Hi guys. Sorry its a technical & long post.

1st post in this subsection :D Firstly I have good mechanical knowledge except when it comes to Turbo's and who to contact.

I have not long brought a mint condition Glanza V (1999).

It has had the following done engine wise:

By me:
New cambelt fitted (sadly no chain cam) along with alternator V belt (done by myself as a precaution along with oil/fuel filters)

Not done by me but on the car:
Full rebuild a few thousand miles ago (it sounds sweet as a nut)
RX7 intercooler & pipework (top mount heatsoaker - going to be changed asap)
Hybrid CT09 turbo (good to 240bhp as far as I understand) with actuator to suit (running 0.6bar) around 190bhp. (now running .81 bar)
Up-rated water pump
Turbo timer
Uprated fuel pump

Basically it is hitting fuel cut every now and again, especially when in 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear, it seems to only kick in when around 4-5K rpm which is weird,
after that it carry's on pulling as normal. Looking at the specs for the standard ecu its good up to 0.85Bar. (certain there is no leak from manifold)

Tomorrow i'm going to get some Iridium plugs and fatter HT leads (AWG) (its still on stock leads. Japan 100 Volt), to see if that cures it.

Either way; it will be getting a remap, not sure if a few people on here have some good recommendations for a decent remap in the Staffordshire area?

Cheers

CC Tuning in Burton do custom mapping, I had some work done on a 2.0 Astra Turbo... few issues but the guy tried and tried and did no end of diagnostics, map adjustments, put a new throttle body and boost solenoid on but with any variance from the standard map I'd get 50% throttle after a few mins, it could have just been my car to be fair as literally hours were spent on trying to sort it, including smoke tests, electrical tests on solenoids and all sorts! Ended up getting my standard map put on and money back but I was very impressed with how determined he was and otherwise I've never read anything bad. Sold that car on the basis it was the car at fault somewhere so pointless chasing performance from someone else.

I've just had a custom map from Performance Torque in Wolves on my little 1 Series, flawless, no issues and very much feels OEM. Definitely worth asking. Just works and works well.

Both of the above are not guys who just flash maps they've been sent, they do custom work specific to your car, around £300 to £350 from both. Rolling road etc.

Thanks for that Stormster, good info, will give 'Performance Torque' a ring - I can wire in the ECU (when I get one) and put a general map on it but sadly I have no calibrated rolling road to test it on & map accordingly.

If possible I need somebody who has the ECU there who can wire it in and do the map at the same time. Dont mind paying around £500 - £600 for both. Im after a decent ECU mind you. If I can get the car to run 1.0 Bar boost with 0.8 standard low boost then I will be one happy camper, don't want to go over 240bhp mind you.

Can build forged engine, after that if needed. Its killing me to have the 'fuel cut' kick in and jolt the conrods & crank like that, it feels terrible.

Can you Remap a Glanza? My GT-Four needs stand alone as the ECU is locked. You can get Apexi power FC which is plug and play and quite simple to use or you can go full fat and get a Motec etc.

Yes they are highly tunable you can get around 200bhp on standard ecu, up to 250bp in my case, not on standard ECU however. Atm now with boost im probably running around 210 bhp with LSD.

Have just spent all night getting it to a sweet spot. Have upped the boost to 0.81 bar and its got no more boost problems.

No more boost cut out in 2nd and 3rd, it goes like a rocket ship from 1st @ 7500rpm to 5th @ 6000rpm, more than before. Standard ECU seems to have a certain sweet spot.

HKS FCD (Fuel Cut Defender) can be wired in pretty easily. Then an adjustable actuator arm and a SARD adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Pretty crude way of doing it, but worked well on my Starlet GT Turbo. FCD removes fuel cut, then get the car on a rolling road or out for test drives and see how its running (rich/lean) and adjust with the FPR. Add more boost accordingly via adjusting the actuator arm.

I had my GT Turbo when I was 18....nearly 10 years ago. Still miss it! 200bhp in an 875kg tin can...was quite fun!
