The easy shuffle is not concrete...

I could buy Greg 1000 times but I've got integrity.

What I am is honest

Easyrider is truth :p

You've got ~£600K in the bank to buy 1000 of these. Impressive!

But on a serious note, I'm in a similar position myself. Sold my GTX 980Ti in order to 'upgrade' to a GTX 1080 and expect the extra cost to be fully justified by performance. I also wanted the support for DP 1.3/DP 1.4 as a monitor reviewer. But it seems like the GTX 1070 is the more sensible option for now, unless some of the custom GTX 1080s pull off something special. Still waiting for reviews on them.

Like all hobbies, sometimes you have to forget about the money.

True however in this game your purchase is worth very little very quickly. My main hobby I've recently spent over £1k three times however those items I'll still be using in 10-20yrs. Makes parting with the cash much easier :)

I can't decide either, but i do want something new and shiny to replace my 980. I really wanted a 1080 but the price is just too rich for my liking for what it is.

If these were 980 launch prices and a half decent custom card could be had for ~£450 then i would have bought one but near £600? No thanks.

It is just too much for a card that might well be destroyed by Vega and/or the GP102 within 6 months.

I don't think these silly prices will last so i will either wait for a stonking deal on a 1070 to play with for a bit, buy a 980Ti when they are sold off to clear stock or maybe even get a POlaris 10 card as a stop gap if it is indeed Fury performance and costs not much more than £200.

I think the 1080Ti is the one to buy. It will long outlive the 1080. Just as the 980Ti is a wider gap with the 980 than the 970 is with the 980. It seems the one to get on the nvidia side. I'm tempted to wait for Vega but rumours we won't see that now till 2017. And AMD have a habit of pricing their top cards too high. I think a Q4 purchase of a 1080Ti is my goal.

I thought we would see a few by now? NDA is lifted. Bring the reviews!

I've seen a few doom reviews. Doom is a useless game to show as a review title because it's not the least bit taxing on the GPU. Everyone saying wow look at the fps in 4k!! Yeah. Try the Witcher or GTA please.

Summers here, there are better things to be doing with your life than fretting about GPU upgrades.

Go outside, get some vitamin D, comeback in September when the early adopters have been parted from their money and prices actually reflect what these cards are worth.

That's not the point. It looks great and STILL gives great fps!! It's what's possible if the devs don't make games for cards that are 2 or 3 gens away :D

I'm on 4k so I appreciate their efforts!!!

I feel quite a few people might be disapointed again when expecting the 1070 to beat the 980Ti! I suspect it will be slightly under or right on the heels on a 980Ti when overclocked.

Most 980Ti do what 1400+Mhz with quite a few hitting near or 1500. Ill be surprised to see the 1070 being a 980Ti beater lol.

1080Ti is where its at! See ya there peeps.

1070 will be to the 980ti like how the 970 was to the gtx 780ti. Similair performance with more VRAM. For anyone currently running a 980ti its best to just wait it out for the 1080ti. Its not as if suddenly the 980ti has become obsolete. Still an incredibly powerful card.
