France, fuel and motorways tomorrow

My dad is driving down to Perpignan via Belgium/Switzerland over the next few days so wonder if he'll have any trouble. He has an Ampera so maybe a few miles of electric might save him if he's coming up short :p

I filled up with super unleaded in the hills above Monaco today without any drama at all. Slightly expensive but no queue.

I don't think it'll be that easy for the next 2 days before my return to the UK though.

Some family members have driven from Wales to the South of France over the last couple of days, and have had no issues with buying fuel. They noted that the others in the group who went via Paris had mentioned the nearer you get to the capital the harder it was to find, but as you get anything South of Paris it was business as usual.

I drove a little over 2000 miles in France over the last 5 days and filled up numerous times, I only saw queues and outages around Paris itself. I put that down to panic buying and perhaps because there are more people there... Looks like a storm in a teacup.

Either way, it seems to be all headlines as it didnt impact me at all. :)

I agree. I filled up 4 times in 3 days and it was business as usual. No stations had queues, and they all had super unleaded. Perhaps they didn't have stock of other fuels, but I had no reason to look.
