Hi guys,

My girlfriend currently has a Mini Cooper convertible but is having issues with her wrist which means that she is now looking at autos or flappy paddles. She, unfortunately for me, is still looking at convertibles. Hard top would be preferred due to cleaning but I think she's going to have to settle with a soft top.

Anyone got any good recommendations?

So far she is looking at the BMW 1 Series (2013 118i can be had for around £14k-£15k). She wants to avoid anything too big like an A3 and rear seats won't get much use except for additional storage. Maximum age five years.

Most of the drive will be a short commute to work or a few miles up and down some A roads as I have a Golf GTD for long motorway drives.

Cheers

In fact it seems the A3 convertible is marginally shorter than a 1 Series convertible so I don't see why that would be regarded as too big.

Edit: Correction, originally said longer...

Ah, I just assumed the A3 would be bigger seen as the A1 is meant to be the comparable car for BMW. Will have a look thanks.

1 Series = A3
3 Series = A4
5 Series = A6

The A1 is a supermini, BMW dont have one of those in their range

Don't go a bit anywhere near a 1 series cab at this money. It's a hilariously dated car which is fine for well under 10k but not for 16500!

MX-5 with "powershift" (if you aren't worried about space).

They don't go wrong and are cheap to run.
