The easy shuffle is not concrete...

It is obvious you are meant to look at the graphics score...

That is not the point. Point is look at those clocks/performance and look at the price of 1080. Two nodes later and we get this? Fail.

Defend it all you like. I'm allowed an opinion. The GFX score has been noted. Doesn't change the fact that a 980ti is very close in the benchmark with the same cpu.

We get it, you don't think the 1080 is worth it - no point flogging the same horse over and over tbh!

Get a 1070, or don't, get a 980 TI, or don't. Nvidia isn't forcing anyone to buy the 1080, and it has reduced the 980 TI retail prices a little so that's in it's favour.

well thats certainly a big turnaround, you did seem to be deliberating it intensely.

but yeah when I saw the flashy reveal event and the new features, 2GHz + clocks, below 70 degrees operating temperature etc I did get into the spirit a bit, but then when the first benchmarks came out I realized it wasnt actually a very special card at all

Glad you brought up the price as the bench you have been quoting shows a FE 1080 in a case on air using a standard bios matching TitanXs on waterblocks and custom bios using extra volts.

Question - How much is a TitanX plus waterblocks again ?

Answer - About twice the price of a FE 1080

No contest is it, the same performance for half the price.

LOL. Two nodes later and this is how you see it? No point trying to reason with you then I suppose.

I've always seen the 1080 as a replacement for the 980, not the 980Ti. This way the performance increase looks much more reasonable. The price however, looks way more ridiculous!
I know 980s were £450-£500 when they were released and without a price drop in 980Tis this always seemed unlikely for the 1080, but the 1080 prices seem to be quite a sharp increase. I've not heard of any Fury X style stock shortages to suggest an inflation over normal 'launch price' premium either.

If anything comes out of this...It will be the 1070. Not all is lost I reckon I'll be able to get one of them for less than 375 :p

Not everyone has £900 to spend like you mate. I can only buy what I can afford

Not sure where people are pulling this "1080Ti will be a grand" from, it's like they are bending over and accepting the going prices for 1080's, then just giving in.

These prices are what the Ti should be, not the regular 1080.. so yeah I'm pretty sure they will drop.

I'm not so sure...If the 1080 prices drop further they too close to the 1070?

I don't think the price gap between 1080 and 1070 will change much, if at all, but the 1080Ti will be priced so attractively that it'll make the 1080 a silly purchase for enthusiasts.

Those without the cash to burn won't care how close the 1070 and 1080 get, so long as there's £100 difference between them, the odds are tipped in the 1070's favour.

My crystal ball says the 1080Ti won't be more than £800 - for the FE, assuming whoever came up with that awful idea hasn't been fired already.

This thread is as bad as Greg's thread as there is already another thread where the price is been discussed.

Saying that, what did you expect? People have been trying to tell you that the 1080 is just a mid range card. Is it fastest card out now? Yes. Is it worth £525? Nope.

:(

No chance of a hug then?

I agree with LegendaryDread, but tbh even IF they somehow managed to be near £800 it would still be pretty excessive. Lets hope competition is good and prices don't keep creeping upwards, it will be bad for everyone if we have to expect this every generation.

Fingers crossed we don't get all get ripped off with the 1070

I'm warming to the idea of SLI
