Hi there guys, so i'll be honest i'm completely new to PC gaming although i'm aware of the tech world and mostly what's going on.

Anyhow with the release of overwatch and after playing it on console (PS4) i've decided to switch to a powerful gaming pc.

Now I have decided on these components ...

NZXT Phantom 410 Enthusiast Midi Tower Case - Gun Metal

Intel Core i5-6600K 3.9GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor - OEM

MSI H170 Gaming M3 Intel H170 (Socket H170) DDR4 ATX Motherboard

Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMD16GX4M2B3200C

Corsair Builder Series CX 750W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020061-UK)

Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps Solid State Drive (SHSS37A/240GB)

Seagate 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache HDD - OEM (ST1000DM003)

OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Now the above comes to a grand total of £1,239.49 excluding a KB & Mouse (Decided to go for the Razer overwatch edition on both), now this will be rigged up to a Sony 1080p TV (due to lack of space no chance to get a desk & monitor where it needs to go).

I'm also going to be playing it mainly from my bed in the evening's and came across this

All in all would this be future proofing myself for a long period of time? & will most if not all games run at ultra on 1080p with this rig?

Thanks
Ricky

Hi,

For the 6600K I would suggest a Z170 board so you can overclock it.

The PSU is not of the best quality, EVGA, Superflower or Corsair RM series are much nicer.

The RAM is expensive.

I dont see a GFX card listed.

You need a heatsink as the K CPUs do not include one.

Try this,

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,196.87
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Dont bother with the disk drive, Windows 10 comes on a USB stick for £89 if you need it and games are all available online to download.

Err, well the Gigabyte has a 3yr warranty, the cooler should be decent (good temps and low noise) if their previous coolers they did on the 980/970 etc are anything to go by.

P.S it lights up?

Don't forget the GPU is on pre-order (ETA 10/6/16), although you could use the onboard graphics to start with to get it setup.

What monitor resolution will you be gaming at? For 1080p and 1440p you might find the Nvidia 1070 is better value for money than the 1080.

Can't I just get OC to deliver it when all the components are available? Bit cheeky too they charge for delivery, guessing the customer service is good if not outstanding though should a problem arise?

1080p basically using a TV, but I am looking to get a 4K set in a few months to a years time, will there be much difference in the price you think?

A Nvidia 1080 to game on a 1080p TV is overkill and just money down the drain as most of the performance benefits will be completely wasted. You're buying when these cards are fresh out and so at a premium price.

If you plan to get a 4k monitor somewhere down the line then yes a 1080 is a good choice. But why not wait on the 1080 and put something better balanced for 1080p gaming into the system for the time being?

Something like a 960 or a second hand 970 (lots of these will be appearing on the market with the launch of the 1070 and 1080). Then trade that in for a 1080 (or maybe a 1070 depending on the games you play) when you get your 4k monitor.

I think you get free delivery with that graphics card actually. I am not sure how they process orders with pre-order items. You could give them a call to see what they plan to do.

Yeah you're right! pleasantly surprised at that & for Saturday delivery, one thing that's annoying though is I want to pay more than the 10% deposit for the finance option, any way to do that, or is it locked in?

They will just send the card after, you can still use the PC for basic tasks as there is a built-in gfx core.

True, i'd rather hold off touching it though till I could just build it to go from the off, another thing I completely glazed over, where could I get a reasonably priced windows 10 license?
