Sad day for the British high street. I have some fond memories of the cafe in the BHS in Preston many, many years ago.

Sympathies with anyone affected by the job losses. Phillip Green should be ashamed of himself.

You are conflating two issue to be fair here I feel. Green sold the business.

The business failed becasue it simply lost its way.

Phillip Green did everything he could to secure all jobs, he was left with no alternative.

Well maybe the guy who owned it for 15 years should have put it on the right track. Crazy talk I know. If the reports are correct, then BHS has a pension deficit of £571m. Sir Phillip and his family took out £586m of BHS during his time as owner.

Hence why companies like Sainsburys, etc. are rolling billions into evolving even though it isn't making some shareholders, etc. happy.
