Still confused on monitor

So, recently I've been looking for a monitor and have found the LG 27UD68P which is looking very tempting. However I since I need something with the power to drive this it looks like I'll be going with a GTX 1080 which is irritating since they don't support Freesync.

So now I'm in no mans land toying with the LG or the Acer Predator XB271HU which is G-Sync but no Freesync or to go ultrawide. Ideally I didn't want to be locked down into one ecosystem but it looks that's the way it will be for quite some time. The other point is that for roughly £600 I want perfection which from what I've read is not the Acers strong suit.

So does anyone have any ideas? :)

EDIT: Also what is the difference between the LG27UM67 & LG27UD68P

the LG27UM67 is discontinued for one thing http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27MU67-B-4k-uhd-led-monitor it's also not 10 bit colour - or ppl have said.

That's weird as it costs more than the newer variant and the 4K could be a problem (Especially with scaling). Ideally I wanted 1440P but no one seems to do a decent 1440P panel for GSync/Freesync :(
