Hi all, started putting together a parts list for a new PC build around 6 months ago. With a lot of help from fellow forum members I now have what I think is the the final component list.
I was trying to keep the build cost as close as possible to £1000, and at £1097 its close enough.
Would Overclockers put the rig together for me and how much would it cost? The reason I ask is that the cash is from a grant and they want 2 quotes for a PC and am worried that a list of parts may not be suffice. If anyone has any experience with this sort of situation I could really do with some advice :)

So, back to the build. Any final thoughts on the build list as I have not kept up over the last few months on new tech etc.

Cheers

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,097.83
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Or buy a cheaper 390.
or if you can wait maybe even the newly announced AMD RX480 (end of month supposedly) which might be another alternative but a little cheaper still...

Also as a side note to the OP... personally I'd stretch to a 240mm rad if you can rather than a 120mm, just gives a little more headroom etc if you want to overclock in my opinion :)

It's a period of transition with GPUs, with the 1080, 1070 and Radeon 480 all appearing and the 1060 likely not far away later in the year. I'd suggest a stop-gap solution (if you don't already have something from an existing build) or hold fire until prices settle down (there's a lot of really silly pricing milking the early adopters at the moment).

Cheers for the feedback guys. I need to get a quote quite soon but the grant may not be paid for over a month, so by the time the cash arrives the new GPU,s may be available.

Looks like the 1070 range is £150 to £200 more than my currently selected card. When are the New Radeon cards due?

New AMD RX480 is being released on the 29th. There is an NDA on them so we have very few concrete details until then, but the price is said to be $200 - $300 and expected performance is meant to be between a GTX 970 and GTX 980

The R9 390 Nitro has had a price cut to £229.99, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sapp...rd-with-backplate-11244-01-20g-gx-373-sp.html
At this price would you still recommend a change to the cards you mention? (While waiting for the 480 release and price of course)
