Mossie bite - Cream to null the itching?

I suffer terribly from bites, the area of the bite swells up to the size of an apple and it's incredibly ithcy.

Has anyone got any idea of which is the best relief for the itching? This year is the worst it's been for a long time.
 
Bit of Heinz English Mustard smeared on evenly will do the trick. You'll not have any more bites but you might grow a bit of hair.
 
Prevention is better than cure, use insect sprays when you are outside for long periods of time.

I suffer the same thing, mosquito bites cause welts / lumps to appear around the bite. I suspect it is an allergic reaction, so some antihistamines / allergy pills could help reduce swelling too.

See your GP though :)

Yep, best to not get bitten if possible... although I seem to attract them too, sadly.

When I lived in France I used to use an electronic device that mimicked the sound of a horny male mossie. We only get bitten by the females, so if they think there's a male one in your room they stay away. Didn't work so well outdoors but it was easily the best thing I ever used for keeping them at bay indoors.
 
On a related note, when I was 14 years old I got three bites all very close to each other on my left hand. It swelled to twice its usual size and looked like it belonged to the Michelin Man :D I spent several days with it in an ice bucket to bring down the swelling!

If you went to the doctor, or even the chemist, they would have given you some anti-histamines!!!
 
I have a bite on one arm and 2 bites on the other from Sunday night when I was washing my car. They still itch but I've decided manning up instead of itching them is the best course of action.

I recommend manning up.
 
Mossie bites are part of the territory over in India.

I have mosquito mesh netting on every outlet of my house over here which pretty much eradicates them. I did stay in a hotel in Mumbai last year without the facility and woke up with about 7 or 8 bites on me.

Damn things. I will try lanacane if I can get hold of it. At least in the UK you havent got to worry about Malaria etc!
