Arrghhh Chav Neighbours

You'll actually be doing the bloke a favour by calling the RSPCA as he is stuck with the dig through obligation to his kids so you're giving him a way out, Does that make sense ?
Anyway ring the RSPCA no matter what as it's gotten far to hot for a dog to be locked in a garage for any length of time. :)

Who cares? I'd rather have a slightly miffed neighbour than a dead/suffering animal on my conscience.

You don't know if the neighbours is going to be slightly miffed - By all means call the RSPCA and be prepared to live with the fallout? Not sure of the OP's circumstances, however there are neighbours who will resort to being more than slightly miffed - car(s) being keyed, vandalism etc etc. Hence the diplomatic solution, talk first?

Well so far tonight, since he took the pup in, it has been all quiet.

Fingers crossed my "little" word across the fence has worked. It was a very calm, "you can't do this" type of chat.

Hopefully they have realised it is causing a problem and they will end up in trouble if it continues.

I assume the guy isn't thick enough to not be able to piece together a discussion about the dog with a neighbour and the RSPCA turning up

yeh sounds simple enough even for the dumbest of guys too work out :(

maybe wear a camera, phone in shirt pocket etc and confront him about how much the dog is disturbing you, if he acts like a ned/chav you have it on camera.

dunno never had to deal with something like this before as all my neighbours seem to look after their pets.

I assume the RSCPA are confidential so who's to say it's the OP that called?

Not hard for them to come to that conclusion, given the OP has recently spoken to them about their dog.

.

Absolutely, and I agree. Merely commenting to the OP the neighbour might not take too kindly to it.

I can't work out what's riled you more - your neighbour keeping a dog in the garage, it the fact that you have to live near a..... renter

His quote was "what else am i supposed to do with it"

See, this is a flag for me. I'm a firm believer in the progression of humanity and when I find people asking questions like this, I can't help but think that we need to humanely put them down so the rest of the world can move on and actually develop, rather than cater to people who seemingly struggle to remember to breathe and hold back the rest of us. I mean, it's not hard is it, the dog is clearly making noises indicating it's distressed and the best you can come up with is "put it in the garage".

Do the world a favour and eliminate stuff like this from the gene pool. Make humans more intelligent, make animals happier, and help with population control.

Either that or simply remove all the health and safety labels on all the products we have access to and let the problem solve itself.
