Purchased this yesterday(Friday) for £20 on a private sale, it's a sapphire model, only 1gb, but they not common on the markets really these 260x range, so thought I would grab one the chance I had, got it for testing as obviously I have the better version.

It's all stock for the testing as I don't see no point starting with an overclock ha, but for a 1gb model it does pretty well with the division, the benchmark feature put it at 27.5 avg 27.6 typical with 97% gpu usage and 5? % cpu usage which is not bad going to be fair, my 270x gets 51.5 avg and 51.6 typical both on high preset. Also while I've never checked the 270, the 260 was at 99/100% load and vram stayed between 960mb-1000mb according to the sensor on gpu-z, which is good.

Gameplay wise, was at 9-11fps then must've updated as it started off at 45fps then went down to 22fps and hovered around 27-35fps during moving and gun fights again pretty good and better than my 560 was and must be said, not too much different than the 270 as that hovers 35 onwards.

Will be interesting to see how this card does in other games of demanding nature and what's it like to overclock

I need a 250x and a 280x to continue the family;).

The 260/260x stood out among the 200 series cards because along with the 290/290x they were the only freesync gaming capable chips on the ranges release (The 285 came later), You should try and get one of those £100 freesync monitors and then test and compare them to see whether it's better to go with the slower card with sync or the faster card without.

thanks for reply, to be honest ive never tried g-sync or free-sync before, the few cards ive had have done fine with my monitor i have, but the 270x should support free-sync shouldnt it? i couldnt replace my 270 obviously as its better, my cpu will get upgraded before that happens again.

i think im just more impressed how the division is optimised for various cards compared to other games, im yet to get BO3 and GTA 5 to test. oh and it be interesting to see how my version of FO4 handles the 260x as the 270x offers good frames but awful gameplay compared to the slower 560 superclocked i had.

but the 270x should support free-sync shouldnt it?

Unfortunately not, That's why the comparison would be interesting. As mentioned only the 260, 260x, 290 and 290x supported freesync when the 200 range released, The 285 also supported freesync but that came later.

ah right okay, mean i didnt notice on the box, but specs do vary depending on source, good job i didnt already own a freesync monitor then lol. i dont see how that makes sense, why would the lesser models offer it, but not the middle man?

i will have to see what comes up on the used market, i dont plan on keeping the 260 long so wouldnt want to pay too much, my cpu will get replaced before my 270x.
