After a rubbish couple of years going through a divorce and having to live with my Parents for just over a year, I should be exchanging this week and completing on Friday.. offer was accepted on about March 10th so I guess that's about normal timescales.
I'm buying a 4 bed semi and have literally nothing to move in , apart from my clothes, so its going to be a VERY expensive few months... but I can't wait :-)

Gratz! Yeh I am now finding stuff will soon ramp up in expense, Luckily we are finding friends/family that are willing to give us there older stuff and buy new for them selves. So least delays the cost for us :D

Although am planning todo a huge Costco trip and just buy loads of stuff in bulk for cheap.

Same here, yet we are moving into a house full of furniture (the seller has a few houses and would rather sell with the property than try to move/store/sell it)

Only recently got a costco card myself, bloody love it!

Sorry to hear about the divorce :(

But on the other hand...

Ah nice! That is nice to move into a furnished house. Also can't wait to get to Costco and just fill the cupboards (When we finally get the house that is) :D

Seen a house we like and previous purchasers found that there is a mineshaft under the front garden (From a search via solicitor)!! My solicitor has said he will do a search on that. It is in a mining area.

Anyone else had issues like that? We love the house though!

Just exchanged today! Got an email to confirm exchange is complete this morning!

I'm chuffed!!

It finally feels real. Now I just need my move in date, which is hopefully September. House is progressing nicely and the roof is due on this week or next.

We just had an offer accepted on a house (this). We're just waiting for the builder to put up a fence, fit blinds, put a fridge in, etc. Get the keys on July 22nd.

Now just to fix up our current house and get it sold/rented out.

Should be moving in a weeks time now :)

3 Bed, Detached with separate garage behind, and FTTP :D

We get both the garden to the right that is walled and all of the front

still awaiting seller to exchange. all our side is complete.

wife has a funny feeling they may back out, they delayed by a week (no chain) so far but they haven't signed

Survey's are all booked in for our purchase, Nationwide are doing their own valuation survey and we have commissioned an independent building survey. We've closed both our HTB ISAs so we can claim back the bonus on that (£1,200 in total).

Our solicitor is still waiting for the contract pack from the vendors solicitors but hopefully that'll get sorted sooner rather than later.

We are going round to take another look at the place tomorrow as we haven't been round since October! Will be good to get a refreshed memory of it, and some more photos as all we have are the estate agents ones at the moment.

Current time line:

3rd October 2015: View property (along with 30 other people!)
5th October 2015: Offered on property (along with 12 other people!)
7th October 2015: Offer declined - vendor accepted a higher offer
8th October 2015: Higher offer fell through second chance given, to us and another couple. New offer put in.
9th October 2015: Offer accepted (Although lower than other couple we got preference due to being FTB and having no chain)
7th March 2016: Vendors have offered accepted on property
16th March 2016: Chain complete with five people in the chain.
18th March 2016: Chain collapsed as vendors of the property our vendor was due to buy decide not to sell
10th May 2016: Property withdrawn from market as our vendors are 8 months pregnant and decide they don't want to keep looking at properties.
1st June 2016: Contacted by Estate Agent as vendor has found, and had offer accepted on property and given us first refusal at same price
8th June 2016: Chain complete with four people in the chain.
11th June 2016: Mortgage meeting with Nationwide
20th June 2016: Building survey
21st June 2016: Mortgage valuation survey
