Sounds really bad, 20 people shot apparently, hostages taken, shooter in possession of a bomb, according to the bbc..

:( hope it's not as bad as it sounds, but it sounds pretty damn awful.

Sky are reporting multiple gunmen, but it all sounds a bit confused.. Hope it's not terror related.

Sounds like whatever's happening is still going on, the cops were supposed to provide some information over an hour ago, but called it off as things were still going on..

Reports from witnesses suggest that a shooter was inside the venue shooting into the crowd, and that a bomb might be involved, not much more than that at this time

Exactly,

Imagine being busy drinking with your friends and having a good time - dark room, loud music, then without any warning - someone bursts in and starts shooting into the crowd, before anyone with a gun can do anything people will be dead, and even then it would take time in the panic and confusion to figure out exactly who the shooter was, and I wouldn't exactly count on joe public armed with a 9mm making the correct decision.

Arguments do not have to make sense, they only have to appeal to your own demographic, and to gun owners, and open carry proponents, they see gun crime as thing of the past if everyone was in a state of open carry of powerful firearms.
It couldn't possibly achieve what they desire, but their viewpoint will not be changed. You are talking to the right of a very right wing country, based in fundamentalism.

If this isn't a jilted lover, then I'd be surprised if it isn't some bible thumping psychopath who assumes he is doing God's work by killing the gays, even though killing everyone is God's own personal work.

But hey, more guns, guns on everyone would have stopped this.

Of course, here in the land of strict gun control, stuff like this never happens!
 
Just saw it on the Orlando Police twitter, so must be a legit figure..

Wasn't expecting it to be that high... 20 is bloody awful.

RIP and condolences to all involved :(
