Probably not much consolation to the three year who'll never see his Mum or Dad again. "It's only 2 dead - not so bad" isn't really an acceptable response imo. How many more terror attacks are we going to tolerate before we actually do something?

It wouldn't be if that was what was being said. You are posting in this thread intimating about equivalency on terrorist attcks when the whole discussion on here has been if random idiots didn't have access to guns then any attack would lead to lower casualties

Yea....because our security services are doing nothing have not stopped lots of organised attacks

There is very little anyone can do about random outbreaks from solo protagonists.

Why are we even talking about guns? No-one is talking about knives after the tragic event in Paris. And it is tragic, pretending that emotions somehow don't matter is dumb to the extreme. Understanding emotion is vital to understanding these attacks and key to stopping them imo. All these attacks have a common motive - until that is addressed then the attacks will continue and that means more children losing their parents, more parents losing their children. Absolutely tragic.

I know they're working hard on this but it's not enough, more radical ideas are required - and to be honest it shouldn't be just up to the government to protect us. We just go through the same process in the wake of every attack - a vigil/march to show defiance, politicians going on about love defeating hate, media warning of the risks of reprisal attacks against Muslims and how the Muslim community feel uncomfortable now. We're just treading water, sooner or later we're going to be pulled under.

I imagine having a Dad that supports the Taliban and generally following an Islamic jihadi ideology for a long time would only have exacerbated that conflict. Most homophobes don't go around killing gays though.

That's it guys, we've reached peak scorza. Why are we even talking about guns in a thread about an American gunman who killed a huge number of innocents using a gun?

Now that it appears he was also gay or at least had interests in homosexual spots and hookups at the very least, it'll be interesting to see how the right wing contingent on this forum will respond. Will they double down on the Muslim rhetoric or add in the homophobic commentary as well?
 
Were there security staff on the door? If you can't take the guns away you at least need to keep the inside of any venue gun free. Perhaps if the door security staff had remote pendants to raise the alarm, maybe linked to a secondary internal auto locking door. It may sound extreme but we have inner locked doors to segregate the pilot on planes.
 

I swear people/publications/etc who make up these nicknames don't realise it completely devalues and undermines any credence they may have.
