Time for a new front door!

Being paid for by a family member as a present so need to get some quotes in

currently have a old wooden door with a yale lock, pretty sure you could fart and the door would fall off so not Ideal.

went on a few door websites and didn't realise there were so many options!

Any recommendations? things I should ask about etc etc?

what rough cost should I be looking at? So i know when to laugh someone out of my house and stop wasting my time

Are you looking to replace with a new wooden door or PVC? New frame?

If the new door you're looking at is wood, it shouldn't take a carpenter more than a couple of hours to hang and plane down slightly if needed.

If going PVC make sure it's composite.

Rough price estimate, assuming it's just surround + door but no side windows, anywhere in the £500-£700 ball park would be reasonable depending on optional extra (fancy handles, letter boxes, window inlays etc).

Also, getting a front door as a present??????

quite a normal present isn't it? :D

we have been renovating our first home over the last year and the front door is horrendous.

Ah, first home, that makes sense.

We did get a new kitchen sink as a house warming present when we got our first house!
