Hi Everyone,

I am toying with the idea of building my next PC and as part of picking the individual components warranty length is a big factor for me.

As such, I am trying to determine which manufacturer offers the longest warranty (including extra by redemption) on components and would value you input as to who offers what as some of this information seems to hidden away for some reason. The below is what I have found out so far:

PSU - Corsair and EVGA 10 years
Mobo -
RAM -
GPU - Zotac 5 years
CPU - Intel Retail 3 years
CPU Cooler -
Case -
Case fans - Noctua 6 years

If anyone is able to add to this list I would be very grateful.

Many thanks,

Moley

As important (perhaps more so) is the ease of which any warranty can be redeemed. In that regard a UK RMA centre is top of the list for me. Gigabyte has one. Not sure of other manufacturers.

For memory, iirc almost all kits ive bought in recent years have had lifetime warranty. Examples ive owned being, gskill, corsair, team group and samsung greens. If you have a look through ocuk's ram selection, on some kits the lifetime warranty is with ocuk, others with the manufacturer.

I've always gone for Noctua for my CPU coolers, never really had to use the RMA, but I've heard it's pretty good.

Not the cheapest, but I've never had any problems and they have, what 6 years warranty?

PSU - Corsair and EVGA 10 years
Mobo - Asus TUF series (5 years with OcUK RMA), and a few Gigabyte boards can be 4 or 5 years if you register.
RAM - all are lifetime warranty to the best of my knowledge.
GPU - Zotac 5 years, and EVGA 5 or even 10 years if you purchase extra warranty.
CPU - Intel Retail 3 years
CPU Cooler - Noctua and some NZXT liquid coolers are 6 years.
Case - Phanteks 5 years.
Case fans - Noctua 6 years.
HDD - WD Black 5 years.
SSD - Some Samsung Pros 10 years, some Sandisk 10 years.

Not all psu's have 10 year warranties. It's only certain models and in EVGA's case, above a certain wattage. Take the EVGA Supernova G2 series for example, the 550w and 650w versions have 7 year warranties while the 750w and above have 10 years. Other models have 3 and 5 year warranties. Corsairs warranties also vary from 3-10 years. The realhardtechx psu review database is a excellent source of info on psu's.

This ^^^^

If a component was to fail, its normally pretty quick after buying it.

What you don't want, is something to fail and the RMA to take a month to sort out, and leave you without a PC for that time. Because of this, I buy Gigabyte if I can. UK RMA centre, and normally turn around time is less than a week. I've not needed to use it personally though.

I just had to submit an RMA for my Corsair AX650, very happy with the entire process.

I used the online ticket system to submit a request, I just attached my electronic receipt and it was accepted within 24 hours.

I had two options

  1. Send my PSU first, it would have been shipped to Bolton.
  2. Ring the U.S support number and request an express RMA, this doesn't go to Bolton, it has to be shipped to the Netherlands.

In the end I got an express RMA and they upgraded from an AX650 Gold (4 years old) to an AXi860 Platinum, so happy with that!

I will have to send the PSU to the netherlands, for about £35 ish probablyand they put the security hold on my CC until they receive the old one back. Overall happy with the way the warranty support worked out from Corsair.

Glad to hear that very positive feedback on our RMA service. I'll be sure to share this with my team and let them know that they've done a great job handling your RMA.

Thank you for taking the time to share your great experience :)

With Antec products our standard warranty length depends on the product, but we offer up to 7 years.

Our RTM office is in Holland, however you can ship to my home for quicker turnover if you REALLY do not want to ship to Holland, as soon as I have the faulty unit back we can issue a replacement unit from Holland, usually delivered in 2 working days. So turn-around is quick.
