What PSU is it exactly? I would probably suggest a 1000w just to give yourself some head room.

Secondly, You will need a 4k monitor to 'game in 4k', yours is 1080p?

Def need a new monitor one that actually supports 4k. Have you tried gaming on proper 4k before i.e not on someones ps4 with a 4k tv? Superwide is also a option these days and two 1080s will run that easily.

Did you mean to type "800 plus gold psu"? It looks like you meant to write 80+ gold, which is a certification level of efficiency. What's the actual power output of it? If it's actually 800w then no, you won't require a new one as the 1080 is a very efficient card.

You don't need a new monitor to buy a gtx 1080, but if you plan to game in native 4K then you obviously will..saying that though, one 1080 won't get you very smooth framerates in BF1 in my opinion, not at 4K.

I wish you'd taken the time to read your own post before posting, would make replying with advice a lot easier.

Yeah the moneys there mate, so id be willing to get two 1080s ive just listed my build

If you have already bought that board then you can't do SLI. It only supports crossfire. See the specs here. Why buy a H170 board for a 6600k anyway? The difference in price between H170 and Z170 isn't that big to justify saving money.

I think he just needs a nudge or helping hand in the right direction. ;)

4k is overrated, 144hz all the way - makes FPS gaming so much more enjoyable.

Is that the general consensus regarding FPS and 4k? Wondering if it would be worth upgrading to 4k. I haven't played FPS at 4k yet, but I currently game at 144hz.

Different stroke for different folks, I much prefer 3440x1440 for gaming than at 4k.

i prefer 4k lol. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder :)

and yeh u cnt sli on that board.

The PSU will be find for sli 1080's on that. it only recommends me 750w on my cpu.
