Whats the difference between these two fryers?

Which is 3.2l and is one of them kinda spoon full of oil and then u can fried chips in 10 mins or somit i think kinda device by using hot air circulated. Like a actifry. £49 from £89.

Then there is this.

Same thing aint it but a massive 17l with a 5l extender thing. Similar power, words are describing it a bit differently but i think its basically same as other thing yes? Acts like a actifry? And this is just £39 from £59.

Surely ppl would go for the 2nd one yes?

Also erm are they any good you reckon? I heard a few stories about these kind of devices melting or something awhile back, different brands tho. As thought about getting one for awhile but too expensive but these seem more affordable. Would be nice to have fried chips again like chip shop but at home instead of oven chips all the time.
 
I assume the 17L thing is wrong and the 5L bit is the one you want to pay attention to. Aside from that, they look similar.

I've no idea if those models are decent. To be honest, I'm not sold on air fryers but then again, I don't deep fry things very often anyhow so it would just end up being a rarely used kitchen gadget for me (of which I already have far too many :p).
 
Say you want to make chips using the double fry method, where you cook raw chips first at 130°C, then let them cool and recook at 190°C, can you do this method with one of these air fryer gizmos? And can you start with say with defrosted supermarket "frying" chips, instead of making them from scratch? Basically looking for a easy work free method of making take away quality chips at home.

Twice cooked chips taste the same to me if you chip the spuds, simmer them in water until cooked, let them cool and then fry them.
 
Heston method for chips works great lot of faffing about tho.
Simmer in hot water for 15 mins.
Allow to cool.
Bung em in the freezer for a few hours.
Fry em @ 130°C for 5 mins.
Fry again @ 190°C until browned.
