SOFLAM really needs a pro-active squad who'll take advantage of it.
Think I am also going to switch aircraft (at least jets anyway) to thermal camo, the amount of lock ons is crazy.
Ahem, Smrtkamarbleduck said:TOW missiles are pretty much obligatory—if you use Zunis, everyone's going to laugh at you.
Not sure about jets but on helis you really need to use both ecm jammer and stealth they are a bit meh on their own without the other and for best effect flown a specific style (which I suck at).
Interesting recent thread on symthic on the subject of LAV and AA loadouts..

Pretty much agree.
This made me laugh about the LAV loadout:
I use the HE shells rather than the slightly more effective against armor APFSDS-T as I'm carry a TOW and need a more effective way of killing infantry which the HEs allow for due to their splash damage. I've found that thermal optics on silk road is a mistake though. But so is playing that map IMO.
I used to rock zunis for ages, now i switched to tow...but Its hard to hit any flying stuff...
First time I used zunis I took aim at a tank and let rip only to watch them all land half way between me and the tank. I think the only way I could have killed him at this point was with laughter!Interesting recent thread on symthic on the subject of LAV and AA loadouts..

Need a new mouse too, can't really see anything I like the look of except the g900 but I'm not paying £125 for a mouse... Was looking at the G502 but I am too use to the lightness of the zowie fk 1 now + I quite like the plug and play without having to faff about with software/drivers, just want something that is a bit more ergonomic and with lighter/more responsive buttons!
I think its dangerous to fly attack chopper without stabiliser.... but I'm not good at flying so I donno...
I don't think stealth is as important for helis tbh, you can hide behind a lot of objects/buildings very well and get to said cover very quickly on most maps especially on the likes of siege, dawnbreaker, even more so with the little bird. The gyro stabiliser is pretty good, although it has been ages since I tested without it so not sure if aircraft gets as big of a mobility hit as before... The jets when hit without that unlock go completely out of control and against a good pilot can get you instantly killed or when doing a deep strafe, make you lose control where you can't pull back up.
Jets on the other hand, you don't really have any option but to fly out of the lock on range or you could fly really low or something...
And yes ECM jammer for helis at all times. I prefer flares for jets, quicker and guaranteed to break lock ons + the only time you really need ECM is when going against a really good pilot but even then it is rather easy to keep track of them with the smoke trail it leaves behind.
If you are in range they are effective, but at distance you have to turn and run
The logitech mice become pretty much plug and play once you've set them up to your liking (The mouse remembers your settings). I tend to uninstall their software suite after setting up. I will admit the G502 is heavier than I expected when all the weights are removed though.
