Tribute or campaigning in bad taste?

After the tragic loss of Jo Cox MP I was glad to see the leading political party members all paying tribute together.

There were however a few things which David Cameron said in his speech after laying flowers which just didn't sit right with me..

1. He mentioned the 'precious democracy on these islands'.
2. He said that we have 'a measure of economic well-being better than other countries'.
3. He talked about 'driving out division'.

I can't think of much this has to do with a lone killer with a history of mental illness, but it chimes exactly with the points the stay campaign have been pushing.

Is it just me being cynical or did Cameron use the tribute speech as a platform for the stay campaign?

Here's the speech:

Nothing wrong with his words. Are you only asking because you're worried that the leave campaign will take a big hit? ;)

Of course he's using it as a platform for the referendum, as subtle as he's trying to be.

Scumbag.

It's just the way lefties are they are narcissistic and will do and say ANYTHING to further their own views or cause.

They should be taking the opportunity to point out the severe lack of funding of our mental health services not turning it in to a political tool.

But the lefties smelt blood and went for the kill as they always shall.

The mental health services in the uk are shockingly poor.

David Cameron, a lefty lol.

Jo Cox's death is a tradegy and we must all stand behind the condemnations but please do not mix up the actions of one man with the EU referendum, plenty of the European press are doing this already. My concern is that the Remain camp will use this to try and bolster their position.

I'm pretty sure the leave campaign would use just about any incident if it involved immigrants or Muslims without a whisper coming from many complaining in these threads.

As sad as it is I can't help but think if "Pete the postman" gets killed after years of service he's lucky to get a mention in the paper but as a politician is the victim all of a sudden there's a queue of politicians from all sides along with press rushing to make a media circus out of a terrible personal tragedy. :(

oh come on ANYONE with an agenda will use her sad and pointless death for a chance at extra points.

Im happy there are plenty of people hating the Tories now and especially DC even if you have delusions of grandeur for the UK, possibly minus Scotland again in a few years.

MP's are the elected representatives of their constituency so should be held in high esteem. It is unfortunate that some dont deserve this however by all accounts Jo Cox was a star in the making.

Well, they did. They used both the Paris attacks and the Orlando massacre

Seems some people have a perceptional bias when it comes to complaining about things
