Looking for a second car for the wife to use, she says she quite likes a Citroen Cactus. I'm not sold on it but they seems to get good reviews.

Anyone here have any experience of them?

Roads are full of them because of the super cheap leases flying around, they're not bad from what I've seen but entertainment system is slow, engines are noisy but in generalif you can ddeal with the looks it's a very practical car.

I've got one:

Anything you want to know?

I would like to know why you have one, and if you blindfold yourself until you're inside it? :D

A colleague had one as a temporary hire car in place of his company car for a while.

Awful. To the point I'd have to question the mental faculty of anyone willing to actually pay their own money for it.

It was uncomfortable, everything felt horrifically cheap inside, it was sparsely featured. The interior felt like the designers got the car and saw the outside, then thought "why bother".

He had it a week before he sent it back to get something anything, else.

Not sure you are qualified to comment - you must have been blindfolded to buy your current car :)

I don't think any of the current Citroen's (or DS cars) look bad. I think they look quite aggressive and futuristic.

Certainly a Marmite look but nothing like truly hideous cars like the fiat multipla, ssangyong rodius etc.

I've never been in one, but your thoughts reflect Car magazines long term test view on one.

Don't. Buy a regular hatch instead, or the far superior Suzuki Vitara (or a Yeti). Group tested the lot a few times and lived with one for a year.

Not awful, by any stretch, but there are far better options out there.

I wouldn't buy one but the price for the lease was too good to pass up. There's still some excellent Yeti leases going on which is near comparable in terms of TCO +/- length.

I use mine for pootling round the city and carrying my bikes on the roof.

In the Flair Edition I have the sound system is good, climate works well and the reversing camera is a nice touch. Economy is good at slow speeds but 80+ cruising kills it.

@Evilpaul and Muffin'- What are your general thoughts on day to day ownership? What engines do you have, dag-dag or petrol? How is the fuel consumption?

Evilpaul - what shade of red is that? Just the 'normal' solid red or is it the 'Jelly red' colour?

The more I look at the Cactus the more I like it. It's certainly a 'Marmite' car, its so ugly it looks awesome (IMO ;) ).

Other than the strange side panel bit its not that bad looking. Quite like the red one above. :)

I quite like the look as well, but that's probably because i'm forced to drive a Picaso which is not to dissimilar.

The side panels serve a purpose as well, no more worrying about idiots banging your doors as they take the brunt.

The interior does look a bit cheap tho.
