i7 4790K GTX1070/1080 Question

hi just been reading a few threads about the GTX1070/1080 being "bottlenecked" by the CPU in the user's threads

would a Stock i7-4790k Bottleneck either of the mentioned cards

I havent got one so its just a guess, but i would think you would only be bottlenecking it if your using a low res going for really high fps or using SLI. I think most people buying them will be running 1440p though, or at least running games that require a bit of power and not 200fps shooters.

If ya have a 4790k ya should at least change the turbo speed to run all 4 cores at 4.4hgz though, it wouldnt even require any more voltage. I wouldnt have a K chip running at stock speed, it would make me feel ill :)

Hi BluD its only at stock as to be truthfully honest I don't know how to OC it or turbo it and its my first ever "K" Chip
 
If you have a aftermarket cooler and your not using the supplied one i would definitely give it a go, but if your using the supplied cooler your probably best leaving it at stock.
 
At 1080p or 1440p you will get slightly higher minimums with some of the strongest i7 CPUs at 4.5/4.6 GHz ie 6700k, but you should generally be fine.
