Grumpy old man hat firmly applied for this one...

Yesterday I was with the gf driving home, me as the passenger, steadily going along the main road when a couple of yoofs shoot out from a side street with nary a look or glance and were only not knocked off their bikes by the lady slamming on. She gave them a toot on the horn to which one of the urchins spun round and shouted "**** off your pregnant goldfish". Kids were probably 11 or 12 at most.

Without engaging my brain, or really being sensitive to my gf who was a bit shaken up, I jumped out the car and legged it after them red mist fully engaged.

Of course not being Lunchbox Christie they easily pulled away and escaped.

Now my question is this, having had time to reflect on it, it probably was best I didn't catch up with them, because what's an appropriate response in the situation? I don't think a stern telling off would have met with anything more than bad language and postering, undoubtedly escalating the situation.

So what would the members of GD done? Please note I don't know where they live to post anything through their letterbox.

I'd have gotten on with my life, in much the same way I do every time a car driver tries to kill me.

No point in getting wound up about it.

Well done for being Alpha OP. Pity you couldn't caught up with them. I would have done the same. People shrugging everything off makes it worse as they become fearless and think they can do and say what they like.

I would've got a mac 10 in a couple of minutes, assumed boxing stance and **** through their letterbox from orbit, whilst my kinky queen bee who kills dads for a living watches.

And what would you have done once you'd caught up with them oh great alpha one?

Ignored them probably.

I'm sure nobody here would admit to beating the crap of a 12 year olds even if it was a hypothetical question.

You could have tried to scare them I guess, I can't imagine that working well unless your quite intimidating. :D

I agree in retrospect that just carrying on, it's a little thing in life, move on and don't worry is the best response.

But it really does grate me that more and more stuff like this happens and you're kinda powerless to do anything about it.
