The Democratic Party had proposed a ban on gun sales to suspected terrorists but this fell 13 votes short of the 60 required.

The Republicans put forward plans for a similar ban in cases where prosecutors could convince a judge in three days that the would-be buyer was involved in terrorism.

It was defeated by the same margin.

A proposal by a Democratic senator to expand background checks and close the gun show loophole - currently no checks are required for people buying guns at shows - was rejected by 56-44.

I mean WT actual F....you can't even vote on better background checks and even in some cases implementaing any at all!

And a Republican counter-proposal to bolster background checks with more money for the FBI-operated checking system and the requirement for states to send more criminal records to the FBI was also defeated 53-47.

Obama tried to implement tighter gun control after Sandy Hook. The day America decided children being shot up was not enough of a reason to implement gun control you know that's the day it's over

If ever there was any doubt that Americans always put profit before lives even American lives this was the answer. This is a slap in the face to the LGBT community and also to the parents of the numerous school children murdered. The only thing that will get them moving is if a gunman started shooting in the Senate and murdered a load of them. Then watch the speed of change.
