I think some common sense needs to be had.

People are judging the future of the country on what has happened in the few hours after the vote. It was fairly obvious surely, especially given the countries top dog resigned, that the pounds value was going to drop. Of course it was. This does not mean that we are doomed and it does mean the pounds value will stay as it is forever, or even for very long.

We cant be sure it will change, but its wrong to start mocking and saying we are doomed a few hours after the decision has been made.

Where did you think the EU got the money from in the first place?

If a project is good and worth while it will be backed. If not then it should be stopped asap.
We can now stop wasting our money on EU projects.

From all the EU countries.

The UK doesn't have the cash to do these infrastructure projects it desperately needs.

Goodbye Heathrow, hello Boris island :/

Major European companies are stating they will be pulling out of the UK which will be £22bn worth of investment... I find that a little worrying.

The UK is not that rich or successful a country by itself.

How long will it be before the Brexit groups start complaning about higher prices and negative impacts across key sectors.

today after celebrating they won and then go to the bank to get their mortgage on their immigrant free street and realise the cost of lending is all over the place.

All my university educated friends on FB seem to strongly support remain, whereas the my uneducated friends who do quite low level work strongly support leave.

I'm not university educated. I supported Leave. Please make some assumptions about my social or economic standing though, the results could be pretty entertaining.

Lets put it this way, I'm 37 and I'm retired.

So considering the majority of Scotland voted to remain, I am assuming that a second Scottish Independence referendum wont be too far away with the promise of re-joining the EU.

Joy, more fools shouting both sides every corner you turn lol

Im sure Nicola Sturgeon will call for another referendum but they should really use there brains and hold off for a while, just to see how things play out in the UK and in the EU.

For PM, Id rather Gove or May.

Dear god I can't believe anyone would seriously wish this upon the country, look at the mans record he is backwards and stuck in the 1950's his education reforms (read turning back the clocks 40 years) have failed and his prison reforms (read turning back the clocks 40 years) are failing the man should be a lame duck but keeps floating to the surface!

I remember that too. To be fair to Cameron, he pretty much had to answer the way he did even though he knew it was a lie, anything else would have undermined his campaign and as a politician it's his job to win elections.

Decent perspective from Owen Jones here - I think he's got a lot right in this: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jun/24/eu-referendum-working-class-revolt-grieve

good article by owen jones and i'm not normally a big fan of his - he has been pretty sensible and calm throughout this process.

I find it quite sad really and am quite concerned we will now see Scotland have another referendum and leave UK.

Of course this assumes two things: 1) the EU survives this and 2) the UK doesn't have a miraculous period of growth.

Of course if we do in fact do OK over the next couple years this could easily mark the end of the EU as discontented people point to us as an example of leaving the EU working. And if the EU fails the economic fallout would again be huge.

No matter what happens I think we have a very troubled time ahead in the economic markets for years to come unless eu and UK leaders take rapid action to confirm roughly the terms of brexit and the trade deal we will have thereafter.

I can't help but think this will be a case of cutting of our nose to spite our face...but hey no one ever said the Democratic process lead to the right decision...just the most popular.

Hey wait wait wait, I got half a ton of Brexiters on my Facebook who want some of that £350 to be spent on Wales!

The triumphalism and bitterness of some in this thread is disappointing. Can I urge everyone to take a deep breath, calm down and think before we post. What happened yesterday is democracy at its finest, people can have differing visions and views but it needn't be about division.

1000% This

I voted leave, it wasn't a decision made on Farage & his "****ing immigrants" garbage. It was an uncertain decision, made on 1 issue that swung it for me. It's not something I'm particularly happy about it no matter what side won. But democracy decided & it needs to be respected!
