this is exactly my fear and why labour need to go back to new labour or even more right wing.
its all well and good being idealistic, but you screw the country over. As its only ever been a 2 party race.
 
I was disappointed with the Labour Party in the run up to the referendum, they didn't seem to be very engaged. I think this stems from Corbyn not being fully behind the EU and has filtered into the party.

(It is possible it is actually due to media bias focusing on the Tories)

The problem is I don't think replacing Corbyn changes anything. The number 1 thing stopping Labour from winning an election is the SNP not Corbyn. Without Scottish votes it is almost impossible to imagine a scenario where Labour wins a GE.

Chukka surprised me last night, I thought he spoke and carried himself quite well on the BBC referendum coverage but I think he is too inexperienced for the job. In 5-10 years maybe

If Labour actually want to do well in future elections, they need to ditch Corbyn and not replace him with yet another Londoner. No Millibands, Chukkas, Thornberrys please. Basically no-one with strong links to Blair or Brown. IMO a good candidate would be Angela Eagle - Yorkshire by birth, Scouse by upbringing. She does have some links to the Brown government but they aren't that strong imo, and she fills in for Corbyn for PMQs and is said to do a good job.

this the same angela eagle who was still blaming the gov rather than her own party ignoring people for labours issues. yeah that will work well.
 
Would have been interesting if Labour hadn't taken a party line.

If Corbyn had gone in either overtly supporting leave - or actually presenting relatively neutral position - we might be looking at a very different political landscape just now.

There have been few voices on the left in support of Leave. Giles Fraiser, writing in the Guardian has been one.

Aside from the obvious disruption, I'd hope that Britain could make a decent go of it either way. I voted Remain but it was more due to a dislike of the politics of those associated with the Leave campaign than an overwhelming opinion on the actual decision itself.

If Corbyn were to go, Hillary Benn or David Milliband would be the best shot at making Labour electable again.

Im not a Labour supporter, be he was a bit of a non entity, had a couple of good ideas but I think he was just too passive.. no idea who he'll be replaced with.. they party is a complete mess, as are the Tories. Maybe we'll see a lib dem comeback, they seem to be the only party with anything close to a unified approach.
 
I don't think the push will stick. Corbyn still has a pretty solid report among members, and I don't think even the MPs will back the push because they know that he will win on a vote on the membership anyway.
