In addition to that the unimpressive performance in the recent leaks.
I don't care whether a GPU is £200 or £600 - i care that i feel i'm getting something good for the money.
If the 480 turns out like suspected (And currency issues is pushing it higher), it leaves Nvidia as my option... Only option i'd consider with them is 1080.

its not a 980 ti,nor is it ti money.
Ti = £360
premium 480 = close to £300
why not just pay a little extra to get a much better card? They must be even cheaper used now too.
who says anything about a premium 480?
a £230 card vs a £360..and some people expect the same performance?

Who said it was ?
980Ti - 5.6TF
390X - 5.9TF
but I do know 5.8 TFLOP card can't be slower than 5.1 TFLOP card; or least shouldn't be with proper drivers![]()
Pretty sure there is more to the speed of a card than just teraflops.... Isn't the Nano a 8+ teraflop card and the 980ti a lot less, yet the 980Ti is a faster card...
I only see the jump to the 980Ti as making sense if you have already paid the G-sync tax. That seems to add on at least another £60 in costs, more if you go higher es.
Sync hasn't exactly taken the world by storm, not sure how many people even care these days.
Any overclocking isn't guaranteed though is it? A 980Ti should overclock really well but there is a chance it's a duffer. The only guarantee are the stock clocks.again we don't knowwe do know Sapphire confirmed 1500mhz was possible....
will that be possible on ref again don't know but 1400 wouldn't be a stretch at all for 480 to hit...1500 I think possibly could be a stretch to hit on ref.......these are the big unknowns.....
also don't know what voltage will need to hit these clocks; 1500 could be extremely easy to hit.....or might need a little extra voltage to hit

AMD’s RX 480 is now beginning to hit US stores. In quantities that are allegedly more than 20 times larger than GTX 1080 shipments at launch. We’ve reported a couple of days ago that the supply for AMD’s RX 480 graphics card is “strong” according to several of our industry sources. And that the RX 480 will be in-stock in substantial numbers at launch.
