** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Again this is how preorders is dealt with at other etailers but the difference is ocuk take your money on order.

Think of it as one massive queue for all the cards. You have a number. Your number gets called and you get to pick which card you want.

All good as long as all cards are stocked.

What happens if the card you want isn't in stock?

Not trying to be funny either. :)

I know you're not. Look at it like this.

ZOtac in stock! No 1 in queue, do u want it? No. The No 2, etc. Till they get to the first person who says yes wwho lets say is no 10 in the queue.

Now that person may have originally come into the shop to buy an EVGA but after queuing for a month and never seeing an EVGA coming into the shop he decides to chnage his mind and take the Zotac.

Now no 11 in the queue who has come to buy a Zotac and who has been chatting with number 10 for a month knows no 10 has come to buy an EVGA.

So yeah No 11 gets a bit miffed when no 10 changes his order and takes the last Zotac but cant really argue that no 10 wasnt there first and paid his money first.

Funny how people's view on fair is probably quite fluid depending on which side of the equation they are on.

I no longer have any skin in the game.

I can see both sides of the argument. People are going to complain and say the other way is unfair regardless of what happens.

I think you're quite right. Most people's view will be somewhat dynamic, mine included. I switched to the GLH queue and I know I benefited from the queue jump, but when I saw a risk of losing my queue place and missing out on the incoming batch it didn't feel fair at all.

They only one I know of that don't take your money until they ship are Amazon. Scan take money when you order, all the German retailers do. So all the same as OCUK. I have no idea whether they put you back to the end of the queue if you change your mind though, they should do, as OCUK should do.

Well I gave a call yesterday number 160 for the FTW cards. Looks like I am waiting even longer than the 1st then. Little **** considering OCUK took my cash already...

Mine GLH arrived a few days ago! Just installed it now. replaced my beautiful hard working gigabyte 970.

Once you've had chance to put it through it's paces, could you give me some feedback on temperatures and fan speeds (RPM) under load? Some reviews and other users are claiming 1000-1200 rpm fan speed under load - which sounds ideal for me.

thanks

What!? Delayed till when?

I thought the last word from Gibbo was that the Premier Pack was delayed until end of next week. I was hoping the regular xtreme would arrive the same time..

I thought it was the premier pack that got delayed? I think I read the regular xtreme would only be slightly longer to make sure fan wasn't hitting shroud. It shouldn't be that long to wait. Most pre-rders on all 1080's should be filled by mid July I hear. Bringing a end to this endless waiting

sorry i mean the premier pack :) I am reading feedback from US owners of Xtreme . 2 new owners boost to 2.1Ghz out of the box . I can wait a little longer .

@Gibbo no chance at all of the GLH going back down to £599? :( I'll buy in a heartbeat if it goes back down when I get paid on 28th

Nope, our original stocks were booked at 1.43-1.44, those who ordered and got one did great, because right now we shall be paying for that stock at 1.34-1.36. :(

Our cost has increased by over £35 exc. VAT (42 inc), our sell price is only £30 higher. :)

We are still about £50 cheaper than our competitor, this is what counts!!!! :)
