Brexit thread - what happens next

Parliament is back in session tomorrow and according to Liam Fox, that's when we'll find out what the contingency plan is. There will be one, it might even be that Cameron wasn't aware of it, but it'd be a dereliction of duty for there not to be one.

So there won't be one then

Faisal Islam has just said on Sky that 2 hours a go he spoke to a leading Brexit politician and asked them to show him their exit plan. The guy pointed to the Leave HQ and said "There is no exit plan, we never had an exit plan" then pointing to Downing Street said "The government should have had an exit plan".

IDS doesn't even know what they promised during the campaign, only that hes not interested in the leadership challenge. Fox is "thinking" about it probably waiting to see what Boris is doing and Boris seems to be doing a spectacular impression of the Scarlet Pimpernel. They are running for the hills people, no one wants to touch this with a barge pole, they never expected it and have no plans for what to do with it.

Because we've pulled out of the EU so Junker's opinions are no longer relevant, it's what they other 27 members are prepared to accept that matters. I could well be wrong on this but I'm sure I heard that our deal with the EU will only need a 70/30 approval rating, so even if a small number of states are willing to give us a kicking it might not matter.

Not yet we haven't..
The people may have spoken but apart from market turmoil, political party turmoil, and facebook turmoil :D... Nothing else has changed what so ever.

WHat we have done is given the EU a size 11 uk boot up it's arse to say "your system isn't working, change it or we'll be off as this is what our people want.."

As far as I can see this will either change the way the EU works for the better of everyone, or they will carry on regardless in their march to collapse and wee will go off on our own and set it up ourselves.

We could be the leaders of a new EU here!!!!!

You cannot make that assumption about a persons motives.

You have to concede that the information with false. Therefore, that is a bad foundation on which to make a decision. I very much doubt that the average person would be doing tonnes of research beyond what was in the media and on TV.

The remain side also lied... so a vote to remain would be equally void?

Or would you be celebrating a remain vote, despite the lies from the remain campaign?

That is all it comes down to. And why many remain people in london and other citys are kicking and screaming. Democracy only works when it works for you, that is all it comes down to with many of the most outspoken remain demonstrators.

While gove and boris should not have made those posters for 350m, it was wrong.

But i would like to know what you think farage has backtracked on? if it is the 350m thing, then he was never part of the official leave campaign that made those posters. He was always doing his own thing and saying that the money spent on the EU can be reinvested in the uk.

Oops, my mistake, Farage said it should be spent on schools, hospitals and the NHS.

They exaggerated, there's a distinction between this and outright lying. Most of their predictions are bearing fruit.

I'll go out on a limb and say that this could even cost Junker his job. His views appear to be completely at odds with what pretty much every national government want from the EU, with Merkel already coming out saying to ignore his calls for a quick resolution.

Truely will be interesting to see where the actual power lies.
If junkface has any or not?
If the leave campaigns protests were true about that uneleceted junkface having power, then he will see to it that we are gone and done soon, if he cant then leave misrepresented yet another thing.

'Let's' see.
Let us

Boris is a bandwagon worm being shown up for it.

An ex-mayor of london running for leave, a place where a it was majority stay.

If he never gets seen again it will be too soon.

I hope the 52% that voted leave are prepared to bear the burden of blame if it all goes wrong

if we end up in overall in a positive position I will apologise and admit that I was wrong

I'm actually feeling OK with this even as a remain supporter. When people start losing their job, and they will, the leave voters will be the first to volunteer. It's all worth it in the end right?

More seriously, Portuguese wife is terrified. She's scared of being deported, being taken away from me and our son (I think more our son ;) ). She's already been told to "get on a boat and **** off home".

Whatever happens now, good or bad, had been toxic for the UK. The fight against racism had been set back 30 years and it's disgusting.
