How are you planning on taking down planes with your pointy sticks?

Since when did planes bring in water, electricity, telecommunications infrastructure?

Simply disconnecting London from one of those three would see it destroyed within a day to a week.

As they say on QI "No One Knows".

Why not quote the rest of my post, I would be fairly certain everyone else will be ****ed at is, and not be fact that we also destroyed the current government in this process.

If we dontgo through with it we're a laughing stock.

Well if we were turning to the realms of fantasty or civil war then yes they could. But I don't think the country has quite got to that point. We still have leadership in our government...oh wait, well we have our other parties that will rally the troops, they have strong...oh no that's not quite true either...

Should we start a fantasy petition on whether we start a civil war or not? I'm surprised it hasn't already been done on twitter :p

No, i know it is all hypothetical and i don't for one minute thing London will or should become a city state. It just amuses me that the reason they wouldn't do it is because "the rest of England would turn the lights and water off"

Talking about the strategics of running a city and how the rest of the UK could send a huge FU to London if it hypothetically broke away from England by isolating them and turning the water and lights off.

Yes, I just can't work out why.

Will the EU do the same to the UK?

(I can't believe I'm getting into the London leaves the UK debate)

London leaving the uk to make itself independent is a far bigger thing compared to the uk leaving the EU, the rest of England relies on London as much as London relies on the rest of England. (even if london does not think so)

I think it should never have gotten this far, the government needed to diversify the country with a spread of economic centers instead of being so london centric.

just as I'd have been expected to be accountable if we'd remained and EU had collapsed

I think those who voted Leave should quickly get used to the fact they will be held responsible if it goes completely pear shaped

how will they be held responsible? That just makes no sense at all, it was a secret ballot for start.

Surprisingly they can store water in large containers these days, electricity can be made by generators running on fuel which also can be stored in containers. Then there's these wonderful things called satellites which transfer information these days.

yes, but that all requires time to setup, land to put it on, which if london went it alone it would not have if the rest of england decided to instantly cut them off.

I'm sorry but the more I hear the more I get cross

effectively those who have voted leave have voted on a whim and a desire to be more "British" - but with no plan on how to actually pay the bills moving forward

what a complete joke

and people should be ashamed of themselves

perhaps you're easily manipulated by the media... top tip - some Barnsley yokles on Channel 4 don't necessarily represent the views of the several million people who voted for leave... but they do provide a target for a bunch of the more butthurt remain supporters to vent at and try to convince themselves that everyone who voted leave was an idiot and made the 'wrong' choice.

Sorry not trying to take you out of context.

It wasn't me that suggested that freedom of movement would continue it was a conservative leave MP. It was Farage that said the 350mil claim was a mistake.

Maybe we will get control of movement, maybe we wont, who knows maybe the EU will just grant free trade at low cost, maybe not. Lot's of uncertainty at the moment.

Democracy died the moment they decided that they wanted their own democracy. Hypothetically if they broke away. And considering them leaving would greatly disadvantage the rest of the UK we could just stick out finger up and turn the lights and water off.

ROFL in less than a week you have gone from yay we want Britain back ! to wanting to go to war with London.
