Tweets and facebook comments - really?

I get Remain voters want to promote division but trying to imply that a bunch of keyboard warriors as representatives of millions of people is ridiculous.

well of course they're not representing everyone on the leave side, the problem is that it shows that many of those votes have been based mainly on the fact that "immigrants will leave" which is completely stupid and sadly some of those extremist(can we call them that?) take it too far and actually attack verbally or physically.

I my self come from Lithuania, jeez I've been here since 14, all my working life, college, school etc was done here I feel right at home and I have nowhere to go back, everything is here but I'm not sure how I'd handle my self if someone told me to "get back to my own country" :o I think I'd be pretty upset and share the experience with my friends.

Not with those countries, those countries and us if we joined negotiating on free movement limitations with the EU along with the other EFTA members. Since as a block we would be one of the biggest trading partners with the EU so would have more sway.

Populations of EFTA countries - 13,392,384 = Huge trading potential right there

Frightening, they seem close to forming a cohesive party and taking on the Tories.... Not. Just some testosterone and cheap booze fuelled kids hiding behind keyboards showing their lack of education and breeding.

It's because of so called social media many of the "modern" issues, which often are not issues at all, gain credence and are spread with the expected enthusiasm of young people with a newly acquired global audience.

Sturgeon is bossing this.

Almost no-one comes out of the whole thing with credit. but she's well on top.

That is because no one has turned their attention to the SNP yet. For the last few years our leadership has been weak: The economic crash of 2008, coalition government, the Scottish referendum and then the EU referendum has all drained the governments strength and made it weak. I think that now we have a real opportunity to get a strong government who will take on and defeat Sturgeon et al.

Is Boris the man to do it? Possibly. Unlike Osborne, he does at least resonate with the working class. But Ruth Davidson may actually be the one to watch in Scotland. She's shown herself to be quite capable and may well put down the SNP.

I think the markets realise that Germany will have to plug the funding black hole that the UK will leave in the EU budget.

But they won't, if we want access to the single market. We're going to have to pay (more than currently, probably) for that.

isn't this how Nazi Germany came to pass ? Open and blatant racism being accepted / having a blind eye turned to it because it's just a few "skinheads" who don't have a platform............ we just gave them a frigging platform and filled the sails full of wind.

This is going to get a lot worse before it gets back to normal. Closet racists are crawling out from all kinds of rocks as they now feel validated. It's already happening where I live and I am seeing it firsthand.

Did you miss the images showing news reports of physical and verbal attacks on immigrants? This is not just 'heap booze fuelled kids hiding behind keyboards.' It's Leave campaigners on the rampage, putting the boot into 'them dirty foreigners.'

The agenda being pushed on here is that they do represent leave voters thats the problem.

Every country has racists and we would still have them regardless of the referendum.

Im sure there are thousands of objectionable people that voted Remain (terrorist sympathisers, paedos, assorted criminals) that 'enjoy' open boarders - are they representative of Remain voters?

Oh be quiet, it's nothing at all, just some drunk chaps with a banner. Sit down and have a cuppa, it'll all blow over!

and the numerous reports, including people on here, where normal work colleagues are suddenly saying such things openly at work.

that's always happened has it? nothing new there?

Some drunk chaps with a banner were not the ones shouting at me in Stevenage town centre to **** off home. Unless you have been at the sharp end of racial hatred you have no frigging idea what it is like No personal attacks - Gilly.

My wife received her first bout of racist abuse today after being born in this country 32 years ago as she was speaking Italian to a friend, assume this is just a coincidence?

The point is more that with the entire world watching these reports, the UK is seen to be dissolving into this sort of behaviour as if it's acceptable as a result of the campaign and referendum result so it's effectively ruined our international reputation as a tolerant, progressive nation that welcomes people.

And makes people feel unsafe and unwelcome in what is their home.
