The moment I get a shipment confirmation I shall post and then when they arrive I shall also post.
Right now I still have no confirmed shipment from EVGA.
Judging by all the reviews I've read, the 1080 is plenty fast enough out-the-box and easily overclocks to about 2.1Ghz no matter which brand you buy.
Completely not the case and the reference version will throttle within minutes at 2.1GHz on stock auto fan if it's able to get to that clock. Even a lot of aftermarket cards struggle to hit 2.1GHz stable.
Yes it is total carp. All the Gainward stop we have shipped at original honour prices, we actually made a loss on.
Prices are now adjusted based on 1.32 rate, gainward PO's were placed with a 1.45 rate, painful, very painful.
Need the rate back up towards 1.40, that is our only hope otherwise we lose big time when we pay for our stocks that have we already shipped.....
I think some people don't realise this, they think you're upping prices to capitalise whereas you're doing it to maintain any kind of margin or protect a loss.
Exactly some people completely understand it, common sense, or they have run a business or does business studies or simply understand mathematics.
Whereas others think were out to get them, the reality this whole GBP weakening means we ship a over a million pounds worth of VGA stock and if we pay at todays rates were lucky to even break even, let alone make money.
Price increases are based on our new landed cost using a rate of 1.31-1.32, whereas PO's for 1080 and 1070 were all placed using rates of 1.42-1.45 and on parts that cost well over $600 for us to buy, that kind of rate change and effect our cost by well over £60.
The sooner the rate get back to 1.40 and higher the better, because with prices shooting up everywhere, people will be less inclined to buy, even I myself will start reducing PO quantities if things do not improve as we simply won't want to build up stocks when pound is weak, so I buy less, you buy less, everyone buys less.

Well, that may be the case, however even if my card struggles to reach 2.1GHz, I'm sure I'll be happy with the performance.
Hell, I may even enable Hairworks in The Witcher 3.

Sorry to hear that! Hope the exchange rate picks up soon as I'm sure it's painful to see that.
Looking forward to finally getting my card after giving up on the FTW.
Creating transistors that are 16nm across is very very hard. Especially as the last few GPU generations were 28nm so it's the first change in a while.
