480 or another 390x?

So my broken card has been refunded by OCUK. I'm in the market for a new one.

Question is... Do I get another 390x or go for the 480? I'm not a fan of blower cards so would want to wait for partner cards. But equally, I'm not a fan of waiting...

tomorrow reviews and you can buy the card.......I'd wait until tomorrow - aftermarket might be a little longer wait.....like few days into July

get 480, less heat and should have higher OC ability

Everything I'm reading online ( a lot of it guesswork granted). Say that the 480 will be about 970 performance. Whereas my oc'ed 390x was getting consistently better than 980 performance.

Will it be Joe public reviews? I'm always sceptical of "reviews" that are done by "sponsored" reviewers who are given cards on YouTube.

yes all reviews will be out - second my friend 5.8 TFLOP card really can't be slower than 5.1TFLOP card......we'll see it come in around 390X/980 speeds in DX 11 and faster in DX 12 - I'd say between nano and fury........we'll see the 480 get faster as time go on with driver improvements

already been said they used older drivers and not new drivers for Polaris; and their charts are all over the place......tells us that even without proper drivers 480 keeping pace with OC 970; which is faster than ref 980

Considered that. Or a 1070. But I'm just not willing to give Nvidia my money just now. I don't like the way they behave so will be voting with my wallet in that case.
Does that mean I might get less frames for my money. Maybe. But it's important to me to show AMD support just now. As I belive we need to shake Nvidia up a bit. Does that make me a fan boy? Maybe. But that's the way I feel.
