I purchased an item from the US on Ebay a week ago (about £700). It was sent via USPS priority mail and marked delivered on Saturday, strange, we didn't get any post on Saturday. :(

Tracking gives no other information apart from delivered, but no signature or name taken, just marked as delivered,

Feel sorry for the guy, it wasn't a cheap item but I haven't got it, only hope he purchased the correct insurance.

This is what the tracking says... useful...

If you haven't already, it might be worth checking the tracking number on the Royal Mail website. There might be more information available. It normally works the other way around. Worth a shot.

Provided the item is over 750USD and he doesn't have a signature (even if it's not yours ) then you shouldn't have any problems.

You gave me a little glimmer of hope there!

Unfortunately, no :(

I do feel for him though, as this was the postage ebay told him to use for this item.

Could it be in Customs being assessed, which is why for some reason it is shown as delivered?

Not sure what the item is, but at that price I would have insisted on a courier such as FedEx or DHL even if the shipping cost was slightly more.

That doesn't look good :(

A item of that price should have been signed for, it's written in eBay's own seller protection policy. If they did recommend that option to the seller hopefully he can claim any loses with them.

Check literally everywhere around the outside of your house that it may have been left. I bought something several years ago that was supposedly delivered and that I didn't have. I went through the process of getting a refund then found it a few weeks later soaking wet in the back garden (which we never really used).

The delivery driver had left it around the back to be helpful but hadn't bothered to put a card through the door, I've also heard of things being left in daft places such as wheelie bins etc.

This my dad his chainsaw left in the greenhouse in the garden. There was no note left telling him this and all the courier company could say is that he wasnt in so the package was left on his front door step (clearly it wasnt)

Also it could be with you neighbors. Cant you find out who has signed for it?

Plus hasnt he got all the proof he needs to show you have it? According to the courier company it was delivered to your address?

I had this recently with an eBay seller, I won the auction on 06/06 and it still hadn't turned up on Friday. I requested a refund yesterday. Like you I felt guilty as if it was lost in transit then it's not the sellers fault, from one of his replies he only had the standard £20 insurance on it (item only cost £30 +postage) but I still feel bad.

I doubt it would have gotten that far down the chain if it was going through customs charging as it would still be at Heathrow if that was the case.

The odd thing about that RM tracking information it that it's stating that it's on it's way to another location before it's arrived at the Birmingham mail centre.

I would suggest that you go to your local sorting office and see what's going on.
