He was the main 'leave' campaigner, this is surely his moment.

Are people gullible enough to believe the conspiracy in the Guardian or whatever that no PM will want to trigger article 50 - it is utter nonsense. Boris is keen to lead and will happily trigger it.

His apparent silence for a week after 4 months of The Boris Johnson Show adds weight to the theory he never actually intended to win.

The lack of any plan put forward by the leave campaign also adds weight to this.

Gove running for PM is probably more to do with him distancing himself from Boris.

Edit - Not standing? Priceless :)

I dont think he planned on winning, just making others disgruntled with DC and gain support from the many new leave voters who are yet to be political loyalists yet.

doubtful, this just sounds like more in denial stuff from the remain side, he was (like a lot of people) a bit conflicted by the EU - but the idea that he didn't really want to leave is a bit dubious. If the EU had given Cameron a bit more back when they were asked for concession then we probably wouldn't have had Boris campaigning for leave but they didn't and on balance he's gone for it.

not really, we've not even started negotiations - he can't be too vocal yet - he outlined his thoughts a few days ago re: a points based system and drew criticism from European leaders.

Quite.

And credit to whomever wrote the comment in the Guraniad. Appears to be approximately 100% correct.

So you have nothing to worry about, your father and your good self, have you? If you someone were doing such research for nefarious aims, wouldn't you want to feel they may get checked out?

That presumes there are never miscarriages of justice. Unfortunately, there are.

The chance of putting innocent people away is higher when everyone is under surveillance.

Boris likes to be popular...the next tory leader will not be

he will stand at the end of their term in Parliament

the next tory leader will not trigger a general election as its their only chance to be prime minister for a couple of years

Can't believe Borris isn't standing up to be counted. Couldn't put his money where his mouth is. Disappointed but not surprised I guess. What a buffoon that guy is.

Gove by announcing his standing obviously intended to put May in the PM position as he knew she would win. It's all a fix so that she gets the job.
