Hi everyone,

I am interested in these two X99 boards but I cannot decide between them - the cost difference isn't an issue. After watching some YouTube videos of the Asus board there seemed to be a disproportionate number of angry comments regarding the seemingly very poor quality of Asus boards and customer support - is this really the case?

I going to use it with a 6900K for everything from web, gaming, PhotoShop RAW and 4K video editing.

I'd like to be able to overclock too.

Which one would you choose, and would you mind telling me why as well please so that I can learn what to look out for?

Many thanks,

Moley

FWIW, I'm going with the Gaming Pro Carbon for my upcoming build, having been set on one of the Asus boards for a while before changing my mind. Mainly changed it due to negative feedback on the Asus' here and on other forums. It could be a mountain/molehill situation, but the MSI looks like a good solid board regardless. It also has a dragon. :p

Hi,

I think I will go for the MSI as well. After further scrutiny on other forums there seems to be a general opinion about the poor quality of Asus - which is a real shame as I liked the look of the Deluxe II board.

Thank you for your input.

All the best,

Moley

Nothing at all better about the board you've chosen over the Deluxe II. Unless you like carbon...

Asus bios is nicer than the MSI.

MSI board looks better IMO - nicer if you have a window in your case.

Asus tends to have slightly better performance, but there shouldn't be much in it.

MSI have better aftersales support.
