How can this be remotely fair? Leaving gender politics well alone, people born biologically male have major physiological advantages over those born female as far as athletics is concerned.

Heart/lung capacity and muscle density being the main 2 off the top of my head.

Might be time to consider moving towards a class system like shooting and motor racing: "standard", "modified" and "open - anything goes".

Nah, men and women are equal. I don't even get why we have gender groups at all.

kind of defeats the point of separating genders... the whole point in the first place was the physical advantage and a biological man who is now legally a woman still has that physical advantage...

This is crazy. You'll get guys pushed into switching just to win. See Russia and China.

Who the hell come's up with these regulations etc, it is not fair in any way shape or form.

This is going to be damaging to womens athletics for the reasons already mentioned, transgenders will eventually dominate.

They still have to demonstrate their testosterone level are below a certain point etc.Its not quite a free for all.

It is a bit silly.

If your born a man, you have a male body and that can't be changed. You can't argue with nature no matter what a piece of paper says. They should at least give them a handicap.

Can you imagine if this become popular in something rugby? Safety out the window for the sake of PC nonsense.

They've been through this stuff in mixed martial arts:

During Fox's [transgendered] fight against Tamikka Brents, Brents suffered a concussion, an orbital bone fracture, and seven staples to the head. After her loss, Brents took to social media to fuel the controversy surrounding Fox's perceived advantage: "I've fought a lot of women and have never felt the strength that I felt in a fight as I did that night. I can’t answer whether it’s because she was born a man or not because I’m not a doctor. I can only say, I’ve never felt so overpowered ever in my life and I am an abnormally strong female in my own right,” she stated. "Her grip was different, I could usually move around in the clinch against other females but couldn’t move at all in Fox’s clinch…"

Caitlin going to take the heptathlon to match his decathlon as Bruce?

-edit when was this decided?
it seems just as stupid as letting professional boxers compete.

So...I'm confused.

Women have spend years campaigning to be recognised as equals in sport. We see this in the fact that for major tennis tournaments the prizes for male and female athletes are the same. Despite females playing fewer sets.

Now when they're put up against biological males they're complaining?

So let's be straight, are they equal or not? Remember...if you say they're not you're a sexist, misogynistic, awful example of a human being!

I don't think this is remotely similar to be honest.

Are you really confused?
Man cuts off his balls, gets to compete against the women.
Its absurd, it isn't confusing, if he had his balls cut off prepubery, it might be easier to compare, otherwise it makes no sense.
Getting paid the same shouldn't be an issue, if in a sport you bring in as much advertising and fans, then you should be paid the same, if you don't then you won't be, look at women's soccer as a counterpoint.
