I would always go for a reputable paid vpns. I have tried using free vpns but they cant deliver on speed and reliability. I recommend Hide My Ass. They have served me good but a little pricey. They occasionally go on sale. I also recommend purevpn. Its what im using now since i managed to get a lifetime subscription. Been using it for a couple of months and so far so good. Look out for deals like that. Both of them come with mobile apps so setup is a breeze.

Private internet access are pretty decent from memory. Very useful as well for getting to "other" sites.

NordVPN now have an app that works pretty well with iPad, they've improved their rubbish first attempt. Seems fairly stable too. Easy to pick any country's servers using the world map.
