Hotel Reception Worker Mistakes UAE Tourist For ISIS Terrorist

Thing is though, there are plenty of bad actors out there who would like to cause us harm. We can't let political correctness get in the way of people reporting suspicious individuals.

Makes me wonder if she calls the cops every time she's just had a shower and sees a towel head looking at her from the mirror.

Yes.

It's affected me too in the past, Kristen Stewart caused me immense trauma with her bad acting.

Back in the real world, he was wearing normal dress for his country, going into a place where you can reasonable expect tourists.

What next, calling the police because someone is doing maths?

Oh, I forgot that's already happened.

He suspiciously walked into reception, shiftily desiring to sign in...

What the media report isn't always what happened - thought people would have learnt that lesson from Ahmed the "clock" boy. Whatever happened, someone thought he was behaving suspiciously, so did the right thing and called the police who checked it out and found he was OK. What's the problem?

It can and does happen anywhere. The trouble is by the time people realise a lot of people are dead. Other people need to accept that ISIS have created this problem so instead of sticking their heads in the sand they need to adapt to be seen for who they really are (nice, nonterrorist etc).

Wear what you want and live how you want in accordance with your home country. Visit other countries you have to be mindful and respectful of the current fears. It's not rocket science.

I took from this:

1. Woman was moron / not seen a muslim before.
2. Cops act fast.
3. UAE are very good, they told their people to not wear those clothes in the EU or USA and also to remove the Face veils... So the country's actually acknowledge others laws...

What laws?

There is zero requirement under US law to not wear a face veil or a robe.

They've basically told their citizens that some people in the US (including police) are stupid enough to assume that anyone wearing certain normal clothing is a terrorist.

Oddly enough I don't remember any of the 9/11 or Syed Rizwan Farook wearing traditional Arab robes.
A terrorist is most likely to wear whatever is common in the area they're operating in, they're not stupid enough to deliberately stand out, so that means that if they're operating in the US they're far more likely to wear jeans and a t-shirt. The UAE/Iraqi/Saudiin traditional robs is probably even less likely to be a terrorist as they stand out, which is the last thing a terrorist tends to want to do.

I said "others" Not just US...

didn't France ban them?

What is the problem?? surely you cannot be that utterly retardedly stupid not to even comprehend what the hell you have just said??

Seriously think about what you just said and then you will realise what the problem is.

Quoted for truth. That's the problem now. Anybody with dark skin and arab looking is automatically assumed to be a terrorist. But its okay, better to be safe than sorry and call the police isnt it?

The feelings are real !

Nope still don't get it. Are you saying people shouldn't report suspicious behaviour in case they are accused of being racist?

That's the thing though, in this story i can't see anything he did was suspicious. The only thing he did 'wrong' was walk into a hotel wearing what he was and speaking on a phone, and if that's deemed suspicious enough to warrant this response then that's a bit ridiculous.

But then again... 'murica! The media over there has wrapped up the more gullible public into this fear blanket.

So its okay for anybody to ring the police when they see an Arab walk into a hotel on the phone then?

I'm saying it's OK for people to ring the police when they see something they think is suspicious. On Friday 20 people in Dhaka were hacked to death because they couldn't recite the Quran, at least no-one died in this incident.
