**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

The buttons are surrounded by gaskets in the same manner as waterproof chronograph watches are, so it doesn't matter since it still complies with its IPX rating.

I've just made the switch to a S7 Edge after many years with iOS (most recently a 5S) and Windows 8.1/10 Lumias (920/930).

I have to admit, I was reluctant and have always avoided Android like the plague.
It always seemed buggy and overly complex. Whenever work colleagues tried to demo their phone it would nearly always end in their embarrassment.

Faced with the choice of either another iPhone (which would offer me anything over the 5S I've got) or an Android device of some sorts, I opted for the S7 Edge.
It looks great and seems to be the best handset to go for right now (along with the non-Edge).

Humble pie moment, I'm pleasantly surprised. No buyers remorse.
Lovely hardware. Android (and the Samsung apps) are great.

Should have done it sooner really.

Just got my DBrand skins in there for my S7.

Opted for the Leather one and the Matte Black, rear only of course. Quite impressed with it if I'm being perfectly honest, fit well, minimal bulk and add a nice bit of grip.

I've stuck the leather one on initially and I do like the look of it (will post some pics soon) but didn't opt to stick the lens cover thing on as I really don't see the point of it. For only $9.99 a pop I would definitely recommend trying them out.

Is anyone running anything other than the Superman rom?

Also, do we get Quick Charge 3.0, or is that only on Snapdragon versions?

Keep an eye out for dodgy/non QC2.0 cables. I had an old HTC cable which used to fast charge fine, but recently it would only fast charge 20% of the time and revert to normal charge the remainder of the time.

Threw it into the sea, and used a Tronsmart cable which is perfect.

So, we've got 2 new S7's turning up tomorrow.

I want to put some security software on them in case they get stolen or lost.

What software is best? how easy is it to put it on them? Is it best to root it first? does rooting cause any issues?

Ideally I want to keep them as stock as possible otherwise.

Picked mine up on Friday and have to say what a departure from the previous gens 3/4/5.

I loved my M8 for its build quality and materials used add to that sense really was fantastic, but the S7 edge is a real step up from Samsung.

Really happy user here.

Now need to find some good cases for the bugger.

I'm on EE with the latest BTU firmware and have WiFi calling.

Are you on the latest firmware?

that does sound awesome!

not got the phone yet, was looking at buying a EE branded handset but if the BTU does wifi calling too out of the box then that could be better

so yours is a sim free with no branding and wifi calling works fine out of the box?
