After riding that 1299 S again the other day I can't stop thinking about getting one and now Ducati launched the 90th "Anniversario" edition.

It has lots of extra bits on it and is "only" £2800 more than a stock 1299 S!

I doubt I could get one of the 500 anyway so I'm not even going to ask my dealership, because if they said yes I may do something rash!

For now I'm just looking at all the high res photos :D

The Panigale is gorgeous at the best of times.... but that is something else. Beautiful.

Heard a red one blast past me on the motorway yesterday. Sounds bloody lovely. In a few years it'll be between a 899 or a S1000rr for me. Why can't I have the looks of a Panigale with the performance of the S1KRR :(

The looks of the Panigale with the performance of an S1000RR is the 1199 or 1299!

Unless you mean cost wise then yes you can't get both! The 899 does miss that extra 50hp if you want to go really fast.

Riding both the 899 and 1299 on the road back to back, unless you are a total hooligan power wise you don't miss it at all. The 1299 S electronic suspension is something else and the light weight wheels really do make a difference to the way the bike feels when you turn in.

I've been offered 10k trade on my 899 so would need the cost of a brand new S1000RR on top of that to get a 1299 Anniversario!

My brain says no.

Had to cut my trip short, sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes :( managed to do 140 miles before it got too annoying :(

The longer I ride the triple the more I want to change it.

Im sure you're a much smarter chap than myself... But don't listen to your brain. He'll be an idiot and talk you out of it.

How come? You've not long bought it! More power? :D

This. Think with your balls, or heart, which ever you prefer :D It'll be an investment anyway, only 500 made... ;)

I've been thinking of trading it in for a newer bike, maybe a 2014 daytona or triple R, I have also been eying up a speed triple and just using it weekends and days off.

I still want a smaller bike for commuting, if they made a grom with a 400cc engine I'd buy one tomorrow, can't be doing with a 125, I just want something small and light that isn't too much hassle to get out everyday, the biggest factor for me is convenience, getting all my gear on and getting my bike out and down onto the road is a ballache at 5am when I can jump in my car and be gone in under 2 minutes.

Ahh, you want something like my CB400 for commuting! Something you can leave out parked on the road and no-one will take any interest, and them something nicer for the weekends :D It's the way to go!

You can pick up Speed triple R's with the forged wheels for around £7k, £1500-2k would buy a cheap commuter like a CB500 or similar.

The 750 isn't anywhere near a litre bike ;) they're only about 95bhp. They do have a thimble for a fuel tank though! Great bikes though, although if you're short they'll be tricky, they are very tall! I remember sitting on one being surprised at how high the seat is! And I'm 6ft 3!

I know it's not :p I've always been fond of them though, great looking bikes, 95bhp is plenty, I'm 5ft 10".

I really don't like Panigale, I saw it in person lots of times... even the tricolor. I still think the 898, 1098, 1198 are the best looking Ducati's. :p

But, the new R1 is a beauty! :D

If I hadn't just bought another house, I would 100% be putting my name down for one. I think they are stunning.

Do it!

Well it looks like the weathers going to be good this week, they've started **** spreading sorry surface dressing on my commute

Anyone know of any good roads around Brighton?
I'm down there this weekend and it looks like I'll be leaving relatively early Sunday to come back up to Wolves so I'll have a whole day to do it in and I'm looking for something a little more interesting than just sitting on the M way as the weathers looking alright.

My fallback is to just tell the Tomtom to give me a winding route but that's always a little hit and miss.

Also I would happily sell my first born for my Ducati, and then give up my job so I could ride it and then spend twice as long brining it back to pristine condition so it could sit in my living room between rides where my tv used to be because I'd probably have to sell that too.

Well was at a loose end Sunday after abit of a ride and nipped down to the local BMW dealer . I am in the market for something new so he suggested trying the Xr1000 .

Its very comfy.. Handles well and looks "ok" Its quick but didnt blow my mind and not a real lover of IL4's and its also very buzzy . Done 30 miles or so and took it back .

I explained my concerns and he suggested taking out a Boxer (new watercooled 125hp) . I was reluctant and had always dismissed them as slow and "old man" but he had a naked r1200r with all the toys so took that on the same route i did on the XR.

Well what can i say ... Loved it .. Really fun .. Bags of torque great brakes and just a hoot to ride . He is going to get a R1200 RS in for me to test but may have just found my new bike.. Dam i feel old now :P

So a man came to look at the SV today and wants to write it off. He said the glass guide figure was 2120 but he would try to get them to give me 2400 for it.

Quite ridiculous the way they do it. Some scratches on the exhaust means the whole thing needs to be replaced which would be £660 for a standard end can! Also he put down that the front wheel and tyre would need to be replaced despite no visual damage, surely you'd want to check it first?

Bleh. Looks like I'll be without a bike for a while in any case.
