It is fast approaching public release. Tomorrow is the day after endless days that will see most of the situation thrust into the public eye.

What ramifications will arise as a result of this? I am under no illusion Blair will walk free. The allegations imputed against the 'War Cabinet' will be a whitewash.

The revelations of the HRC leaked emails prove the Crime of Aggression.

The turmoil in the current labour party is precisely to try and prevent the named people in post at the time from being ripped to shreds. Too many MPs who should have known better voted for a war. As I have stated before I am ashamed to say I supported the Iraq War. But I did so because I was misled totally. As one often would be at 17.

Not only do we still now reel from the tens of billions of pounds in losses from that protracted conflict, but we have a human cost too.

Steadily learning; I know it is possible to impeach a former PM, the problem is jail time. Its sad that we do not have any world court capable of trying people for war crimes... Unless you are from a poor or battered state or have a black face.

I reckon we'll see some British soldiers put on a show-trial for war crimes, but obviously the main architects of the war will escape serious criticism. Blair was unusually prominent in the referendum campaign and the post-Brexit fallout - he'll know what's in the Chilcot report already and he didn't look like a man who knows his political career is about to come to an end :(

Nothing will happen.

this. With everything else that is going on it will get buried and even if it doesn't people will just look at it and go meh. The usual media outlets will cream their panties but the average voter simply won't give a crap

He will know exactly what's in there because of the maxwellisation principle.

Some parts are also likely to be redacted for security concerns. I am very tempted to pick up the book: Not the Chilcot Enquiry.

We should all hope that this report will focus on whether there was a systematic attempt by Blair and those around him (especially that vile £10-30,000 per hour speech giver Campbell) to beguile the British Public. One the face of it we now have clear evidence that was so.

I'd like to think that the OP is wrong, but sadly, I fear he isn't. There will be no consequences for those that led us into that war, and this matter will fade into history.

Salmond seems to believe he can get Blair.

There is still a website that pays out to people who try and arrest Blair (provided it makes the news).

I still recall my step sister telling me about seeing Gordon Brown in Dubai in 2010 and security coming up and informing her that if she takes a picture her phone would be confiscated.

Double dealings a doddle.

It'll be completely blanked of all but the basic facts what we already know, nothing else will happen and it'll just be a testament to the giant wastes of money that have been spent on all of these 'pointless' enquiries. I might get proved wrong, but we'll see.

Good one, its actually just a case of gathering evidence against actual war criminals, Tony Blair has committed none.

The only shame is that we left saddam in power in 1991.

The inquiry has no criminal charges powers, so i am not sure why people are expecting it to indict anyone?

I also seriously doubt there are any smoking guns that would expose Blair of lies or otherwise, its basically going to boil down to very brief intelligence with caveats (that get dropped) getting over sold and over stated

Tony Blair has the gravest crime: The Crime of Aggression
He lied deliberately, negligence has to be punished. Like I alluded to in my OP; if his face were black or a shade of brown he would be on trial. War is War.

Well, we would have to agree to disagree on that. Saddam while doubtless a bad guy was justified in his invasion of Kuwait in 91.

People like me believe the evidence that should be shown will pave the way for charges. That is my hope. Teflon Tony Blair.

But: Colin Powells emails to Clinton prove unequivocally that the war had its basis on lies. No getting out of that one unless of course Colin Powell now pleads he has no knowledge of that wire.
