Spec me a GPU for 1080p gaming

Going from a 290 to a 970 seems like a downgrade to be honest and £200+ for a 970 is a no no for me.

My mate is selling his MSI 980 Ti for £260 with 2 years warranty left as he has upgraded to a 1080, should I go for it?

I know the 980 Ti will last for years at 1080p gaming but what about drivers support down the line maybe 2-3 years time?

I don't know how good the RX 480 is but how does it compare to a 980 Ti?

I have read the 1060 thread and the performance seems to be 980 level?

Jump at the Ti for that price mate! Once both overclocked it'll match a 1070 when they're both overclocked and like I keep saying Kepler and Maxwell were nothing alike whereas Maxwell and Pascal are so drivers shouldn't be an issue :)

Can you hold few weeks until the Sapphire RX480 Nitro OC comes out?
It will be £249.95, and much faster than most of the card proposed above, especially in DX12.

And stay away from GTX970/980. They ain't worth the money, and do not buy any of them second hand for more than £120. Simply they just do not worth the money.

Are you taking the mick? £120 for a 980. You're talking absolute rubbish!

The 980Ti @ £260 is a much better deal than the Sapphire RX480 Nitro OC.

Very bemused at some responses in here. New for 1080p gaming it's a AMD 480 (8 gig) and for Nvidia 970. Personally the AMD is the better choice because of its 8 gig of vram over the 3.5 of the 970. (lol at the £120 for a 980 talk)
