Remainers - Who do we vote for now?

I'm surprised with the amount of lies which came out from the remain camp, some of them didn't end up in jail. Disgusting!

The leavers weren't much better though.

and here's me thinking it was going to be a factual debate....hahahahahahaha

It would. I'm not sure I'd vote for a party who wanted to then rejoin the EU as we would rejoin with no veto, rebate and all the other benefits and opt outs we had negotiated over the years.

Yes agreed - even as a passionate remainer, it's not obvious that rejoining the EU a few years after leaving would be sensible. Plus we'd end up with a strengthened & angry leave campaign.

The Lib Dems might not support re-joining that anyway.

Which from my point of view is still ridiculous. Looks like the Lib Dems are the only party saying that we want full EU membership.

Remaining in the EEA might be even more ridiculous than leaving - surely hardly anyone would be happy with that. If we'd had a referendum with three options (EU, EEA, neither) I don't think the EEA option would have been very popular.

no, but in a question eea or totally out, I would expect EEA to win hands down.
it would be the least bad option for all of us who wanted to remain and is even the favoured position for some leavers.

Well it's good to know all the people slating the Leavers are actually Lib Dem supporters who have zero serious credibility as a Political party. If I ever want a laugh I'll watch Nick Clegg attempting to debate someone.

Historically tory.
However as a natural remainer I will be voting for ANY party that will attempt to keep us in the EU

Actually quite a few people I know voiced exactly the same views including some who fell for the Farage/Bojo lies and are now realising the promised land of milk and honey could actually be a desolate wasteland.

that won't solve the immigration red line that was at the forefront of a lot of peoples reasons to vote leave though. So a lot of people are going to feel like they have been mugged off, #takebackcontrol, but not in anyway that impacts the ability for the rich toffs to carry on getting rich, was not the slogan on those buses.

Why won't it? Note I said 'something resembling an EEA solution'. Immigration is going to be a rather important issue in negotiations unfortunately so at least some concessions ought to be made there.

If a vote outside of Labour / Conservative wasn't a wasted vote in my constituency, then Lib Dem, however, as it stands, it'd have to be Labour.

Can't vote for a party who has divided the country over who gets to be their next leader.

I am very disappointed that so many people are looking to vote for parties who wish to overturn a democratically taken decision. Why can't they just accept the result with good grace.

So you can't use a democratic vote to overturn a previous democratic vote (especially when you've got new information) as it's undemocratic?

It's no different to voting for a party because you agree with them on any other issue.

The leave supporters are saying that it was a democratic vote and should be respected, surely if that is the case then the same should apply if after an election the winner was a party who had said they wouldn't go ahead with Article 50.
Surely if the support for Leave is so strong then the only outcome for a party that stated they wouldn't go ahead with it is that they'd lose the election by a landslide.

If there was another snap General Election, I expect it would see the lowest voter turnout ever. A combination of not knowing who to vote for and feeling your vote is actually not worth anything.

Because the decision was based on BS and lies on both sides. The situation people voted for it not the situation we will get.

Personally I'm concerned some people are keen for us to continue with the result of a decision that is in effect utterly worthless.

You're in the wrong thread.

doesn't seem like it - my initial point was regarding the next PM most likely being a remain supporter you should address that post at wildman, my second one was simply in reply to him quoting me

So 48% of the UK voted to remain in the EU, but it seems as though representation for us is somewhat limited

It really isn't - all major parties were on your side as was the likely next PM.
