Beating the GeForce GTX 1080 at 4KHow do two AMD Radeon RX 480 video cards perform in CrossFire?

Not sorry if you don't like the topic greg but GW's getting in the way of CF is the the main reason I'm running Nv.

It only seems to beat it at 4k and even then some of the minimums are horrendous compared to the 1080.

Can't say this review is really selling it.

Even in AOTS in DX12 the 1080 is only marginally slower at 1080p , 1fps slower at 1440p and actually quicker in 4k!!

If i wanted this sort of performance I think I would still rather spend the extra £150 and get the 1080.

Poor scaling flickering with certain AA settings is miles better than zero FC4 mgpu support for 4 months+ because of GW's though.

I then promptly got shot of AMD because W3 dev said pre release that they couldn't optimise GW's features on AMD so the old adage of can't beat em join em was embraced on my part.

That's AMD's loss and Nv's gain as I've spent a fair whack on Nv hardware since(hence earlier stating they need to do the same as Nv and get as dirty instead of being mr nice guy), no skin off my nose really now but doesn't detract from Nv's dodgy as practices.

Read much about AMD being open source and Nvidia Closed source. It's hardly new or secret information. I though this was well known?

You are going to have to try a lot harder than that if you expect anone to beleive you.

Besides which, the source code to most gamesworks can (and soon) will be freely available to the public to view at their discretion https://github.com/NVIDIAGameWorks

No, the reasons some games scale well and some don't is because modern DX11 game engines use a lot of post processing effects that simply don't work well with mutli-gpu.
