Morning all,

I'm currently contemplating upgrading my old 5 year ago PC (i7 950!) to something that will be capable of playing the new games coming out with max graphics.

I know there are a few people wanting help putting this sort of PC together, i was wondering if someone could help me price something decent up!

Dont need:
Monitor
Keyboard
Mouse
Currently have 1 SSD that i could use also.

I do have a 850w PSU (Albeit 3 years old) not sure if i could keep this?

Thanks in advance! :):):)

Yea if possible, that would be fantastic!

I haven't really even looked at parts since my last build 5 years ago, so I'm a tad out of touch!

Thanks a lot!

Or you can go with 6700K and save some cash if you don't think you'll need hex-core
My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £560.47
(includes shipping: £10.50)

Thank you for the quick replies, that looks fantastic thanks!

Would i need to get the 1 x Super Flower Braided Cable Kit - Black/Red= £59.99 (I'm not showing it anyone :D)

Not at all, if you're not worried about the aesthetics of the case inside, you can take the breaded cable kits out of the total cost and stick with the standard cables that come with the PSU which are still great!

Stupid question - Is the thermal paste decent that comes on the cooler or would i need to order some also?

Only reason i ask is because the thermal paste that came on my cooler (granted 5 years ago) was dreadful...

Thanks for the help!

Thermal paste is included, it'll come with a little tube of it in the box. You won't need to purchase any additional thermal paste, the paste that comes with it will be good quality.

I've just had a look and this is said to be one of the key features of this cooler the site stated that it come with "Permafrost thermal grease for maximum performance Permafrost thermal grease assures the best performance due to a low thermal resistance". So yes no need to purchase anymore you have quality paste included.

What make/model is the monitor and power supply?

Good monitor and decent PSU. There isn't much of a need to purchase a new on then, but whenever I've made a new build I've always preferred to refresh everything and purchase new components instead of taking old components from previous systems, but that's just me. But yeah up to you :P
