So thinking of going next Sunday. Not been for a loooooong time.

My plan is to rock up on the day and pay then incase the weather is bad (and we don't go). And just take some fold up seats and a picnic?

That said, I'm also considering paying a premium for the grandstand seating? Anyone tried that?

No idea, i'm going because we're in the static display but hadn't even bothered checking the weather. If its wet Monday will be painful trying to get the jet back home :(

^^^^ Thread... This please.... ^^^^^

So I assume if we just rock up on the day that works OK? And no issue with taking own chairs/food etc?

And anyone been in the grandstand areas?

What do you fly ?

I don't fly, Tornado engineer.

Your own food and chairs should be fine, check the website though see if that sheds any information on it.

Going as well, but not going to be inside: (, going to be on a hill working track the air displays. The air display area has changed a bit since last years Shoreham airshow crash.

Has anyone found mondays flight times yet

Also ive heard the canal as well as the road at the western end of the airfield will be closed this year.

Local resident here - town end of the runway is pretty much in spitting distance. Yeah, a stretch of road and parallel piece of canal are being closed - both of which run perpendicular to the far end of the runway from the town. Both of these are fairly back-woodsy, and the road is mostly light traffic in any case.

yep local my self know it very well but did not want to walk down the canal to find it closed as you can not park anywhere near the bailey bridge or even rushmoor these days.
I have parked against the fence in years gone past but it gets harder to get there each year as they widen the traffic restrictions and close all the little car parks there.
I usual walk from Aldershot along the canal or cycle from my old house in Farnham but if the road and the canal is shut it may have to be a trek across the comon to the trig point or put up with the crowds and traffic by the swan or out towards southwood.

Was great to watch the last flyby of the Vulcan from there.

Crazy stuff
They carried on afterwards as if nothing has happend (11 people died 8 were spectators)

ive watched it 10 times over, truly amazing

I've been several times. Live locally.

Ive used the granstand and it's pretty good. No need for the fold up chairs. But in case you do want to sit around afterwards it maybe worthwhile taking them.

Yes please Farnborough pictures here,
i wanna see the f35b in action,
we used to call our harriers hovering tins, lets see how they (f35-b)do to our scrutiny

I need to get myself down to Farnborough one day, they stopped my "local" airshow at RAF Waddington.
