Hi
Please can anyone help?

So I was uploading my photos from my SD card which I always slide the protector on. Only half the photos copied onto the laptop.

So I put the card back in the camera and found that half of the photos had been lost from the card after I'd put it in the laptop.

How can this happen if the card was protected? I never selected for the card to be wiped. I can only assume the laptop has corrupted the card even with the card protector on.

What has happened to the rest of my images, is there anyway I can get them back?
Any advice appreciated as I really want my images back.

Thanks

Try http://www.easeus.com/data-recovery/card-recovery-software/sd-card-recovery-freeware.htm

Also, the little write-protect switch on the card doesn't really do anything to the card - it relies on the card reader being able to pick up on the position of the tab. Not all readers do this.

+1 - This

Whilst Recuva may be worth a try, and indeed it works on things like deleted files or accidentally formatted drives, in my experience if the file system is actually damaged, then it won't recover much. Easeus on the other hand will recover pretty much anything by deep scanning.
