Is my GPU on its last legs?

Hi all,

Specs as follows:

X5650 @ 4Ghz
12GB RAM
7970 OC (currently running at stock clocks)

Have tried two different AMD driver versions, one beta, one not.

Temps in game - CPU is ~60OC, GPU maxes out at 65OC. I mainly play Overwatch which has been running fine for a number of weeks but over the last few days I've noticed some strange artifact generation:

What do you guys think? I'm thinking GPU/PSU maybe on its way out.. :(

Thanks,

video is not conclusive. It only flashes in that alcove. Could be anything. Doesnt show artifacts. Artifacts are usually small graphical glitches what you are showing is massive texture flashing akin to a bad overclock.

I've even seen the same sort of glitching in Far Cry 4 with a monitor refresh issue in SLI.

Need to show more.

do you have any overclocks on the GPU? if so remove and retry.

check power cables etc, do you have any issues of other games or is that it?

another thought is if you have another PCI-E slot try that as well

That was one example, on some matches it's seemingly random with similar glitches infront of me or in more specific areas.

As mentioned in the OP the GPU is running at stock clocks.

Power cables all good. I only really have 1 PCI-E slot free for the GPU because of what else I have installed and the height of the card.

Looks more like a driver/game issue to me. Typically when I've had a GFX card let go you get glitches happening all the time, this looks location specific.

Maybe someone with a similar card 7950/280x etc and overwatch could have a look in that area? Might just be an issue with the game.

I've never had artifacting confined to one area like that before, normally when i've had artifacting its appearing all over the place.

Like others have said, looks like game or driver. Have you tried reinstalling the game? Does anything happen in other games?
